Ipad2 32gb wifi+3g ios7.0.2 djay2 2.1.2 although i have not experienced the glitch with this version but havent had more than an hour total play on it.
Either your crossfader is inverted (check settings under MIDI) or try to press the headphone buttons that light up towards the middle of the controller. If youve had the controller since may i am sure you have it hooked up correctly. Other than that, check to make sure the audio output channels are correct under the settings menu.
Any more updates warren? Have you been able to reproduce the error again?
It would be nice to hear some type of progress update. Maybe we should start a thread on how to recover from this glitch quickly lol! This does suck though, i was pretty hopeful when warren said they finally reproduced the error…
I have experienced the problem during full screen mode as well with my ipad2.
Another new update today, various bug fixes! What are the chances you think?
I noticed there was a new update yesterday, i just opened the app store and tapped updates and it was there. One of the reasons for update in the description was, various bug fixes. I can not confirm this fixed the problem but i doubt this update has resolved the issue as i feel warren would have let us know they found a solution.
So tonight i was mixing in my garage and it happened maybe 30 minutes in. I was scrolling through my library in full screen mode and before i even selected a song it glitched. Again, ipad2, ios7.0.2, djay2 2.2 (latest as of 01 Nov.) while the app was still running i went into settings and tried island bluetones suggesstion of switching to mono but that didnt work for me, still only audio coming through one speaker. I switched the mono audio switch back and forth several times and noticed no change. Oddly enough, at some point between messing with that option and bringing djay 2 back up, the problem corrected itself. I feel bad for you guys who gig every week with this issue, i am not that busy at the moment however i have a high school reunion to do in a few weeks and am getting really concerned about this. I am surprised that it is this difficult to fix this issue. I almost feel like if you totally removed the split output function from the software then this wouldn’t happen. Like if there was a special version for the idj pro. One thing i know for sure is that this SUCKS BALLS!
Hey i did want to say thanks to island bluetones for all the suggesdtions, really appreciate you sharing!
Warren, are you confident this issue can be fixed? How far away are we from a fix? You mentioned you are consistently able to reproduce the error on an ipad2, may i ask how? This way i can attempt to avoid doing that? Thank you and i appreciate the effort.
Thanks Warren! I was wondering that myself, curious if anyone encountered this during automix, i don’t think i have.
So in that case, it didnt happen while searching or selecting a song? I use automix for dinner music and cocktail hours, just select a playlist and let automix take over, never had an issue unless i actually go into my library and select a song, most of the time just scrolling before i find the song.
I hope we are close! I have considered buying a different controller but the idj pro imo is the best one just for the fact that the software is optomized for it. Mixdeck quad seems ok but there is some tweaking involved and from what ive read only works in mono. All other controllers kind of seem like toys…
I have not used djay1 in quite sometime, however, yes, i had this problem with djay1 and ipad2. I remember having this issue the first week i got my idj pro (aug2012). It seemed nobody was having this issue and i was just hoping it would get resolved through updates . Thats why i was glad to find this thread.
Warren, what are the chances we can get this fixed this upcoming week? We have to be close right? I hate to keep pestering you but really would like to get this solved once and for all!
Had a thought, has anyone been able to get the error while scrolling with the knob on the idj pro as opposed to touching the screen?
Happened to me last night while doing a high school reunion. I was using the search function in the full screen library, i went to swipe right to add the song to my quere and then a slight pop and one speaker went out. This was during dinner so i just had to let the song finish and i turned the hardware audio off and then back on again through settings menu. About 30 - 45 seconds of dead air. Fortunately this did not occur during dancing but i think the worst part about this is that you lose a lot of confidence. Once it happened, it was in the back of my head and the pit of my stomach for the rest of the night, worrying it would happen again.
Please guys, i am begging you to find a fix. There is no sense in getting upset with you guys as it doesn’t help anything. I am just asking you to put yourselves in our shoes. You have a great product but with a terrible flaw. I hope to hear an update soon…
Thanks for sharing mauricio! Does this work consistently for you? I will certainly try this next time i have the issue. I remember doing this and posting about it a few weeks back after bluetones suggested to switch to mono. I recall switching back and forth several times once the glitch happened but didnt notice a change but then upon going back to the djay app, the glitch was mysteriously fixed. Thanks again for posting, what say you warren? Any update?
I have to agree with mauricio, when i first contacted numark about the issue, they replaced my controller with a new one no questions asked. Upon getting the new one i obviously still had the glitch so then i knew it was a software issue. You may say that no one using other controllers has the issue, but i believe that is because idj pro uses its own custom version of the software, unlike any other controller. Embedded in this custom idj pro layout is the bug and it is algoriddim’s duty to fix it. Numark has a great product, and honestly, so does algoriddim! Thats why we are all so upset because we love using them both and dont want to change from what we have come to know and love. I say leave numark out of it.
Is it just me or does warren seem very quiet…this concerns me a little.
Haha, thanks warren! Hmm, so its not the software alone rather a combo of both as stuart suggessted below… Well godspeed warren, i hope this is resolved soon, keep us posted!
Warren,
Why havent you asked us what idj pro firmware version we have? I dont ever remember being prompted to update and ive had mine since release. It seems that some people were having problems updating about a year ago according to some old threads ive been reading. Just wondering why you are not concerned about idj pro firmware version. Thanks!
Exactly my thoughts nigel, its a fantastic hardware and software combination and i dont want to have to change my setup because of a stupid bug. This is taking much longer than i anticipated. My next gig is coming up jan 3 and im already cringing thinking about the glitch popping up during a set…
