I’m looking for these specifications:
- Excellent quality XLR audio output
- Microphone input
- Both outputs
- 1 aux in
- 2 decks, compact
- 3 EQs + filter knobs
- Liquid-resistant if possible
I’m looking for these specifications:
For compact setups; an external mixer + mini-DJ controller can work.
Notes:
More expensive (compact) mixers have 4-channel USB Audio Interfaces with more options per channel.
I think this meets all your requirements?
Apart from being liquid-resistant - I think you’ll struggle to find anything like that!
My idea would also have been the DDJ-800. Nevertheless, I always recommend using an external mixer. It gives you more connection options and the audio components are often better than what is built into standard controllers. I myself use a Yamaha MG10 XU.
use the ddj 800 with djay pro?
Hi @jenoux, the Pioneer DJ DDJ-800 is supported on macOS. Please see below for features that are not supported with this hardware.
I have some doubts, the compatibility is not complete, born in 2019, it costs a lot of money … isn’t the Rane1 better for example?
Hi @jenoux, the RANE One is also supported on macOS and is definitely a more modern device. I suspect it is heavier and less compact though.
Beat FX are now working on DJay Pro on the DDJ-800.
This was added in the last DJay Pro update.
this is not correct : The sound quality is equal to the sound of the worst component in the audio chain , This means that it doesn’t matter if you have a high-quality mixer, if there is a component with bad sound in your audio chain, the result will be bad. The same thing happens if you use a 128 MP3 file, your sound will be very bad even if you use the best mixer on the market.
Reloop Mixtour Pro + Mixer?
How do you use it without a deck?
With prepared tracks
What do you do with the decks? If you’re not a scratch DJ, many people use it almost exclusively to move to the playback position within the tracks. And this can also be achieved very well by setting appropriate cue points.
You use sync, the onscreen jogwheels, onscreen tempo faders, onscreen nudge controls, or the hidden tempo controls on the hardware:
I’d you don’t want to spend too much the Numark NS4FX is a decent affordable controller that ticks all of the boxes except liquid resistance…
it seems perfect to me
Good suggestion @StijnDC. Thanks for sharing.
The NS4FX seems to be the exact controller your need.
Other options include the compact standalones from Numark (Mixstream Pro+/Go) and Denon (Prime Go+).
I personally have two setups (one compact and one larger) :
There is no DJ equipment I know of that would have water resistance.
I have and have had many controllers… At the moment using the Prime Go apart from being liquid resistant, it has all your points and it’s battery powered.
I used it at first for outside gigs, but now for allmost all.
I also have the Mixtour pro, it’s more like an emergency backup, but it does not have XLR, no mic, no booth, no aux in.
The Prime Go has all of those, only missing is eq on the Mic. Most of the time I use the Denon Engine system as stand alone, sometimes DJay Pro and the Prime Go as a controller.
I was typing Denon Prime Go as well. ![]()
Your controller is called the Roland DJ707M but unfortunately does not work with DJay
