Yeah, I got that impression from other posts he made.
Thanks for sharing @jimbobatzke, I have passed this onto the engineering team for further review.
I just hope that, you fixed the above issue in 5.2.7. I have surprised, you didn’t. Why? After 3 updates still have serious issues on DVS.
Anyway, Happy New Year all of you!
Honestly, at this point, I don’t expect this to be fixed anytime soon. The DVS problems have been discussed and dismissed for years now. It seems to me that DVS is just not a priority for Algoriddim. Which I get, as it seems to be a small niche for the user base. Which means that, for me at least, it will only ever be a fallback for when I have or want to use a mobile device, with the primary one currently being Traktor, which I might also leave behind at some point because of the lack of realtime stems. Can’t decide yet if VirtualDJ or Serato will be what I’ll eventually move to for better DVS and proper stems in one package. Both are ripoffs, price-wise. In use, I prefer serato, but the hardware-lockin kind of spoils it.
They will fix, I’m in 100% sure, just need more more more time! I hope they don’t leave us alone!
Another strange behaviour:
Say, I beatmatched the track (both are playing perfectly and grids are aligned) and then wanted to start it over from the cue point (say it’s on the first beat of the song).
I then press cue in software on the downbeat but it starts slowly drifting backwards and then eventually stops doing so somewhere in the middle of two beats.
Now nudge is needed to move it forward but as the topicstarter said nudges doesn’t work well so you have to drop the record manually.
But when I grab the record after pressing cue the song in software keep playing and I have to release the record and grab it again - now the software recognise manipulations and I can finally drop the record on beat.
This software behaviour is very annoing!
Stems and whistles are cool indeed but what’s under the hood should be of the first importance!
Hi @RE_MIND, welcome to the community! Can you please try to capture a short video of the issue, upload it to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, then share a link to the video here? Thanks!
Here’s the video
First issue shown (around 0:45): the track on the right deck starts drifting forward after pressing CUE
Second issue shown (~1:20): when I start moving the record nothing happens until I release it and grab again. (Shown several times).
Thanks for the video and additional explanation of the issue @RE_MIND. This is very helpful. I’ve shared it with our DVS engineering team and will report back here when I have feedback from them. Thanks!
@RE_MIND, can you please provide more details about your setup as well? Thanks!

Thanks for the additional details @RE_MIND. This is very helpful!
Hi again @RE_MIND, your video was key to enabling our engineering team to identify the issue - thanks! They are working on a fix and it should be addressed in an upcoming release. I report back here when I have more specifics. Thanks again!
Hello everyone! Just wanted to let you know that djay 5.2.9 was just release and “Fixed issues with Start Cue button when using DVS”. Thanks!
@jimbobatzke did you check if the update today eventually resolved the issue of nudging not working while using sync. I had the exact same issue as described in your video on last weekends gig and it drove me crazy.
I didn’t have the time to check yet but would be curious to hear if anybody can report some good news on this.
Unfortunately it didn’t, at least not for me. And to be honest, at this point, I am not going to be bothered anymore waiting for a fix. My current workaround is to momentarily sync the deck speed and disabling sync again, which is annoying but works okay-ish. Tbh, Traktor (as well as Serato) is so much better at keeping up with DVS functionality and stability. I use DJay less and less in recent times because of that, and mostly when playing with controllers only. If it weren’t for the excellent Neural Mix/Stem separation features in Djay, I’d probably be gone by now.
Thanks for the update, that’s damn annoying indeed! @Slak_Jaw I noticed that even MOJAXX is holding off on switching to djay because of this exact issue. Maybe you should consider bumping this up again in there engineering team.
Thanks for the additional feedback @trebbis and @jimbobatzke. I will share this with the devs.
I’m also getting this issue. When using dvs I will hit sync on my second track which should become the “slave”, but when I nudge that track slowly to align my beats it will increase or slow down the tempo of the master. Makes no sense to me. It doesn’t happen when nudging harder but when I’m using my index finger to just spin it a little faster it happens. I’ll provide a video tomorrow.
Unfortunately, I’ve pretty much lost hope that Algoriddim will ever fix this issue. I mean, this specific thread is from November 24, and I’ve written about this problem before then in other threads. I guess that proper DVS is just not relevant for most of their customer base, so it’s not a priority.
