When assigning a function to a control in the MIDI editor, the user must scroll through a very long, single list of all possible actions (especially for deck fuctions). This is inefficient and time-consuming.
Solution
Restructure the function selection menu into a hierarchical or cascading system. Since the functions are already grouped (e.g., Beat Jump, Auto Loop), the user could first select a category, which would then reveal a shorter, more manageable list of specific functions within that category.
Benefit
This would make the MIDI mapping process significantly faster and more user-friendly.
You’re absolutely right. You can add heading sections yourself, but even then, the MIDI mapping can quickly become messy and cumbersome.
With all the different midi functions en the multiple combination functions and so on, it has already turned into an unmanageable jumble.
I experienced that myself some time ago and submitted this feature request back then:
Would like to see an easier / faster way to build custom midi maps. Search filter perhaps? - or at least put the neural features at the top of the list not all the way at tthe bottom lol. Seeing as these would be the most wanted custom implementations for most people.
I’ve worn out my scroll button on my mouse lol.
Is there a way to edit the midi maps via spreadsheet?
