I use it regularly with the iPad 10th generation and with the MacBook, I only have this problem with the iPhone 14
Hi @Slak_Jaw I think there still may be issue on iPhone. I tried yesterday with iPhone 15 pro max and custom mappings for FLX 10 werenât showing.
Thanks for sharing @Randal and @Dysfunk_DJ. Iâll pass this onto the team. Were you able to manually install the MIDI Mapping that I shared above and get it to work?
EDIT: can you both also confirm if only the custom MIDI mapping is not showing, but the (built-in) mapping is? Or maybe no MIDI mappings are showing?
Video here buddy
Thanks @Dysfunk_DJ, Iâve passed this onto engineering.
I donât see any console. I think itâs a cable problem but theyâre the same cables I used with the Mixon 8 and they worked.
Thanks for the additional info @Randal. Our engineering team is looking into this.
Hi again @Dysfunk_DJ, can you please confirm that you are running djay 5.4.1 and not 5.4?
Hi again @Randal, can you please share a screenshot or short screen recording like Dysfunk shared above of your djay Settings>MIDI Devices page with your FLX10 connected to your iPhone 14 and powered on?
Can you please also try using a different USB-C to Lightning cable to connect your iPhone 14 to the FLX10?
Interestingly version number is 5.4 ?
@Dysfunk_DJ please share a screenshot of the bottom of you main djay Settings page.
Thanks for confirming @Dysfunk_DJ
Hi @Randal, thanks for the photos - this is very helpful. Based on these, your issue appears to be different as the DDJ-FLX10 is not showing up at all in the MIDI DEVICES section like it is for Dysfunk_DJ.
This leads me to suspect that it is a connection issue. First, please check the Lightning socket of your iPhone to ensure that it is free of dust/debris. I personally have experienced connection issues with iPhones due to pocket lint - believe it or not. Then, please try the procedure below.
- Disconnect all cables and adapters from your iPhone and DJ controller.
- Close djay.
- Perform a Forced Restart of your iPhone.
- After restarting, connect your iPhone to the FLX10 using the original Apple Lightning to USB-C cable that came with your iPhone (please note that not all Lightning cables are created equal and some only work for charging and not data transmission).
- Power on your FLX10.
- Launch djay.
- Open the djay Settings>MIDI Devices and confirm that your controller is shown under MIDI DEVICES.
- If not, scroll down to the bottom and press Rescan for MIDI Devices.
- If this doesnât work, unplug the USB cable from your DJ controller for a second then plug it back in.
- If this doesnât work, try a different USB-C to Lightning cable.
- If this doesnât work either, then I recommend you try a Genuine Apple Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter - Apple
@Dysfunk_DJ, for your issue, can you please try a fresh djay installation? I suggest that you backup your djay Media Library database and any custom MIDI mappings, then uninstall djay, reboot your device, and reinstall the latest version of djay. You can find the files above on iOS using the Files App, navigate to Locations->On My iPhone/iPad->djay->User Data
Copy the files to a new location or external drive before uninstalling djay. After reinstallation, you can simply copy these files back to their original locations to maintain your Hot Cues, Saved Loops, My Collection Playlists, History and Queue.
Cheers mate, itâs still the same but now I have loads of my music files that wonât load.
How do you ensure all your music plays as before?
Thanks for checking @Dysfunk_DJ. Regarding your files, Iâm guessing these are local files stored on your iPhone. How did you originally add them to djay? iTunes/Apple Music sync with your Mac? Import with the Files Source?
Just via my collection.then creating folders individually and creating playlist and add tracks in from there
I see what you mean now. I have to import the tracks the exact same way but all cue points will be there.
I mean, how did you get the local music onto your device initially and then into My Collection? If you used the Files source, please try re-adding the Files/Folder there. If you used the Music/iTunes App, please try playing the files directly in the Local Music Source instead of from My Collection.
Also, regarding 5.4.1 still not working with the FLX10, can you please confirm that you are not using the TestFlight beta version, but the 5.4.1 version from the App Store? Thanks.
