Hercules DJControl Mix Ultra

Of course! If you guys have contact with anyone at Hercules, maybe poke at them to update their product spec/documentation

Thanks for that info. The original DJControl Mix also works as a wired controller; so it looks like it is standard on the DJControl line. It is confusing, because Hercules super-over-promotes the Bluetooth connection and then fails to mention the wired connection.

Now this is interesting. You know considering that the FLX4 can also be a wireless midi controller but also includes a soundcard yet this controller wins an award, I’m guessing the price could actually be lower on the ultra. Too bad they didn’t just include a soundcard since it be wired.

This is interesting. Although the $4 a month fee is worth it I wonder if this is enough for most people.

Got mine and using it with my Macbook on Sequoia 15.3.2. I am finding some issues with the interaction between the controller’s Master and the actual volume output, and when using external headphones pre-cueing goes silent.

I love this controller but I lost my fader. Is there a way to order just the fader?:folded_hands:t4:

@Mac_Joseph I would contact Hercules support for replacement parts.

Wish they made one without jog wheels & just the pads.. I use mine a secondary device along side my rev 1

There are some akai midi pads with knobs that are basically what you’re looking for.

You’ll have to manually map everything though

Yeah I have those …. But I promise this ultra with Bluetooth as is is a beast as a side controller .

Take the jog wheels off and add 4 faders per side & more control of stems ….. SUPER BEAST

Anyone tried to get the Ultra to work with an external sound card yet? I just got my Ultra and love the small form factor and battery for travel but I hate the audio issues with pre cueing. It’s like back to the old days when the DJ apps were first introduced on iOS.
Currently running mine with an iPad 10 and a usb c adapter with charging for the iPad, single 3.5 mm audio out and a usb c port for my external hard drive.

There are many usable sound cards, but the issue is that the price will be comparable to the control mix.
This is what I landed on, it’s compact (about the size of a phone) has many outputs, and one of the headphone jacks lets you listen to output 1/2 separate from all the other outputs, so you can use that as your cue

ESI - GIGAPORT eX bought mine on Amazon for about 160

Cons:
No way on the device to adjust volume or cue/mix, but you could probably map that to your midi controller if you need it.
It’s finicky on iPad for whatever reason, it works swell on iPhone and Mac/Windows.

Yeah they should just make this with usb connection and in white for like $80-100

Hey everybody,

just to share that I confirm Hercules DJ Control Mix Ultra works flowlessy connected with USB to a Windows PC running free version of Djay!

I guessed some of you could be glad to hear that, in particular now that Spotify (premium) has come back to work with the Windows and Mac versions of Djay, while not (yet?) with the iOS and Android ones!

I find it very interesting, as someone of you already noted there is almost no reference to compatibility with Windows\Mac in official documentation (just focused on Android and iOS).

Cheers!

Hi @pasquy85, welcome to the Community! Thanks for sharing. Yes, this hardware is officially supported on Windows as indicated on our official hardware support page: DJ Controllers, DJ Mixers and other DJ Accessories | Algoriddim

I use a Traktor Audio 6 that I found refurbished online. It allows me to connect to my mixer and use my headphones at the same time. It sounds great! Here’s a link to a reddit post on how to do it. Audio 6 with Hercules DJ Control Ultra
