Why is it that I notice a sound lag (delay) when I click on my cue point? Is not snappy like in serato. This happens with or without the herules connected. Quantize is OFF on both decks but the delay is so significant (almost like the delay we get when trying to cue with a bluetooth headphone). Additionally, if the cues was on a drum beat, the drum is kinda doubled (like D’drum sort of). Is there another setting I should turn off?
DJay on ym iphone 12 mini snappy and I don’t hear the delay like on my mac.
I’d try a couple things that might help figure this out
First, check your CPU and RAM usage in Activity Monitor → both when idle and when you hit the CUE… if there’s a weird spike, that could be a clue
If you’re using internal output, take a look at the Buffer Size in preferences → the lower the better, as long as you’re not getting clicks or audio dropouts
Also worth trying the version before 5.3, in case this one’s got some issue
And try turning off Neural Mix (it can be heavier on the system than it looks)
Thanks for your suggestions. I had to delete my comment above because, this lag is still bugging me. I had thought I got it fixed, only for it to re-occur from nowhere again.
Sometimes I even notice an audio glitch when trying to add a cue point on a playing deck (live).
I am beginning to think the newer versions are a bit heavy/glitchy, and hoping they are working on it. I have read other users reporting similar trends, and I saw a suggetion from the team to disable keylock (a function I love and can’t live without). I wish they gave us a latency setting to play with.
I did that. General CPU usage goes up when i start drumming my cues.
There’s no such setting for mac
Again, impossible to downgrade djay on mac. how dod you do it?
