Hot Cue Lag (Quantize is OFF)

Can you please capture and share a short video @Beepboop00

Not the best example unfortunately!

I’ve tried to replicate my problem where I have a loop running and then I press a hot cue and it should jump out of the loop perfectly and it doesn’t , it waits like a beat sometimes. Unfortunately, it’s an intimate problem. Your own seems to happen after a few hours, so I’m not able to demonstrate this at home.

Thanks for the video @Beepboop00 - this clarifies things. I’ve move your topic to this one as I think it’s more closely related.

Can you please try disabling Key Lock and retesting?

you could try..
disabling the quantise ( this is likely the cause of your delay)
then make a duplicate mapping of the cue point button..
and add a “sync” action attached to the duplicate cue point button
then change the Button type to “on”

this method has one drawback, which is it will “ALWAYS” sync’s to the closest beat…

Hi slak, that was with keylock off  i don’t use keylock

My issue with the “hot cues”, is pretty much like this. Let’s say I’m mixing two tracks and I wanna jump to another saved hot cue while mixing the two tracks, despite quantization is on, the two tracks go off sync for a few seconds. They go back to where they were supposed to be, but it takes a few mins. This doesn’t happen with rekordbox, cdj standalone, Serato or traktor.

3 different computers (2 with m4, one older Intel Mac OS ) and my iPhone 13 Pro Max. Same kind of bug.
Would be great to see this fixed (tried this with a trial by, really would love to subcribe the annual deal, but I’ll wait for this to get fixed).

As of v5.4.4 it is still there: both what you described (sync lag), as well as what i described (hotcue trigger lag). There’s also stems lag especially in intel i7 macs i pointed in another topic (though some reported same behaviours in some silicon macs too.

I wanna update to v5.5 that came out today and see if anything changed about these three issues.

Sweet, please let us know.

i’m fully aware of the issue many are highlighting… i brought it up some time back on another thread
To work around the issue everyone is encountering… i used scrub-points instead of cue-points

the difference is that scrub points are time based… that dont require any mapping
so it works the following way
you have 32 buttons… the song is divided up into 32 sections(scrub points) based on the time length of the song…
for the purposes of showing it in action heres a demo video
this video is only using 16 scrub points vs the 32 i have now implemented
theres a demo mix further in the video using scrub points realtime

Thanks for sharing @7nz

Hot Cue Jump Lag in djay Pro – still unresolved in 2025?
Experiencing noticeable audio delay/lag when triggering hot cue points , unlike the snappy response in Serato or Virtual Dj.
Delay stil persists with/without controller connected, feels like Bluetooth headphone latency?
When cue lands on a drum beat, it doubles/glitches (e.g., “D’drum” effect).
Tried various settings (Neural Mix off/on, flexible beatgrids), but issue remains – not as instant/smart as competitors.
Any hidden setting to disable, or is this a known stil unresolved limitation on djay pro?

Hi there, just curious, what are your computer specs?

macbook M2, but in serato and vdj work great, cut and play style with loops cue jump

What are your quantize settings?

Yep Djay should run smooth with those specs.

Defo Algoriddims next phase of work is to sort out the lag inc stem split lag.

Hello,

i would like to join in on the issue mentioned.

When I try to use Hot Cues to cut a song live, it usually depends on luck to activate the Hot Cue at the right moment because of that small lag or delay and the outcome is what like OP said:

When cue lands on a drum beat, it doubles/glitches (e.g., “D’drum” effect)

My setup is as follows:

  • Controller: DDJ-FLX2 (connected via cable)

  • djay version: 5.6.1

  • Operating System: Android 14 (DokeOS 4.0)

  • CPU: MediaTek Helio G99, 8 cores at 2.2 GHz

  • RAM: 12 GB

  • Songs: Local in MP3: Usually 256 KB/s with 48000 Hz
