Hi @turbopussy, please note that OneLibrary on iOS is currently read only. So, you will need to manage everything on your Windows device then export to your iOS device. Currently, you cannot do this in reverse from iOS to Windows.
Thanks @Slak_Jaw though this is a little disappointing as I did all my work on tracks such as cue points, loops etc in IOS … with your suggestion I would have to redo all this in Windows, right? If yes, I do not think that is feasible…
Any chance that IOS read/write one library will be available ?
Any other option to convert cue points etc. from Djaypro / IOS to something readable Rekordbox as I need to play on a Pioneer standalone device in the near future and I need to prepare an USB stick for that?
Hi again @turbopussy, if you have access to a macOS device, you could first transfer your djayMediaLibrary database (including all your Hot Cues, Loops, etc.) and audio files from your iOS device there. Then you could export to OneLibrary from macOS and import on your Windows device. Alternatively, you could look into using a third party application like Lexicon, Mixo, Rekordcloud or DJ Conversion Utility.
As for read/write from iOS for OneLibrary, the team is looking into this, but I have no news or timelines to share.
ok @Slak_Jaw I now have access to an MacOS device in order to copy Hot Cues, Loops, etc from my IOS device to a Windows PC.
Which file excactly on the MacOS djay pro installation do I need to replace? Is it only “djayMediaLibrary.icns” or more? Do I have to rename then the file from the IOS device on the Mac because on IOS it has a different suffix? Thanks for further assistance.
First of all, I highly recommend that you backup you master djay Media Library database file by copying it to a new folder or ideally to a cloud storage location. In your case the master database file is the one on your iOS device.
If you are using local music on your iOS device, you will also need to copy all of your songs over to the Mac.
After that, make sure djay is closed on the macOS device.
There is no need to rename the file or extension. Simply copy and paste the “djay Media Library” file from your iOS device into the ~Music\djay\ folder on the Mac. Make sure to choose the Replace option.
Then launch djay on your Mac and your hot cues, loops, etc. should be copied over.
I managed to copy the djay Media Library database from my iPad to the Macbook and copied/downloaded my Apple Music files from iCloud to the Macbook. In DjayPro on the Macbook, I now find my tracks and playlist both in Apple Music and Local Music including the Hot Cues, Loops etc. from the iPad library. This is ok.
On My Collection, which I need to prepare the One Library USB, there is an issue, however: 90% of the tracks within My Collection playlists are greyed. According to the icons they come from Local Music, (round icon) while the greyed tracks come from Apple Music (square icon). Tracks from both sources have their Hot Cues etc., though. When trying to copy the Playlists to the One Library USB, the greyed tracks are not copied.
Further, I do not understand why the greyed out tracks on the Mac are indicated as “Apple Music” as on the iPad Library they are all “Local Music” according to the round icon at each track.
Any idea how I can solve this?
Hi @turbopussy, please note that the djayMediaLibrary file is a database that contains your song metadata only. This does not include any local music files. If you are using streaming services only, no other steps are required. However, as stated above, if you are using local music files, you need to copy and relocate these files on your macOS setup.
Yes, this is what I did. I downloaded my entire Files in Apple Music that are included in my playlists both on the iPad and on the Mac. In djaypro on the Mac app. 90% of them are marked as Apple Music (= streaming) files which I do not use
OK, @slak_Jaw the transfer of the djay Media Library is working now (MacOs Djay opens IOS Library). But only for app. 80% of the tracks from the IOS Djaypro Library transferred to the MacOS library (copy / paste) the cue points are there. 20% of tracks are completely blank (no Cue Points, no loops, no comments at all). I cannot see a difference in the tracks with correct cue point transfer and those without (all were included as Local Music to My Collection, there are no Apple Music files, the file format is mp3, stored on the same local drive) .
Copy/paste library from my iPad to my iPhone works 100%.
