YOUR SUGGESTION

This may raise eyebrows but I would say it you should be charging a bit more. It’s a great product and I for one want to see it develop (with many of all these other suggestions) and succeed.

Thanks for the suggestion @Michael_Sumner. What price would you recommend? I’ll share this with the dev team for consideration. In the meantime, please use the blue Vote button at the top left of this page so we can gauge user demand for this feature. Thanks!

I guess just an extra $20. That should increase your revenue significantly without going over the top, ie we be fair to you, you be fair to us

Thanks for the input @Michael_Sumner. I assume that is an extra $20/year?

Also, please use the blue Vote button at the top left of this page so we can gauge user demand for this suggestion.

I’m not paying more until the Android version of the app becomes on par with the iPhone version. We are already paying the same but missing out on many features.

Thanks for the feedback @Joshua_Moreira

I understand that it’s frustrating, but if you want to be even halfway decent in this segment, Android just isn’t the right platform.

I know this statement won’t win me any friends, and I know many people don’t want to hear it, but ultimately we all know it’s true.

I find this difficult. The subscription price may seem affordable at first, but it adds up over the years. And the mere fact that it’s only offered as a subscription deters many users. In that regard, I still believe the option of a one-time payment should be offered as well. The decision to offer software exclusively as a subscription primarily maximizes profits for the provider; from an economic standpoint, it is always the worst option for users.

Ummm… :eyes:

:person_running: :dashing_away:

I would agree and also disagree , there are some basic feature that are still missing that DJP seems to update advanced niche features and not pro needs.

Library management and retaining BPM in the browser are still a sore point that waste a lot of my time

I agree they could charge more but only as a tiered price range.

I wouldn’t pay more for where it currently is they would have to actually make it pro, but I would certainly pay more for more advanced features as I need them.

Good point.

Library management absolutely needs to be improved for professional use.

I’ve been using Rekordbox for decades, and there’s no comparison when it comes to library management and the ease of creating playlists.

Just yesterday at a pub, I wanted to use Djay Pro instead of Rekordbox.

When using my Djay library, I noticed that by the end of the night, my eyes were strained.

The yellow color with white characters really strained my eyes.

I prefer blue on white, also because I can distinguish the titles better.

I definitely don’t like yellow on white.

I would add more color options if possible.

It’s just my personal opinion, nothing more.

I don’t know about this…
I am fortunate enough to be among those who could afford this, and I am totally for rewarding good service.

But…

This might not be the best way to increase Algoriddim revenues, imho.
Indeed, in this software business, each new clients brings new revenues, as pure margin, which is the beauty of the software model.
So, the first thing to do to secure the business plan, is to keep current clients, or better increase it obviously. By increasing the fee, there is a risk to see some client attrition, compensation the fee increase, and at the end you have solved nothing. To the contrary, the entry barrier for new potential clients would be higher. New clients would bring much more money in than upgrading fees.

Then, there is another thing.
I am very happy with the software, and this community brilliantly animated by @Slak_Jaw .
But… I am getting increasingly frustrated by some major requests, receiving top voting score for years, but without any progress, other than “please use the vote button” or “This has been passed to the dev team for consideration”, repeated x100, and then no other news.

As an example, I am taking the request for integration with Soundwitch (>100 votes, for years).
This is a low effort development, opening the huge realm of lighting. Because of the lack of DJay Pro integration with Soundwitch, I am no using Serato… And then I discover that Serato is a very capable DJ software too. There are some things than DJay Pro does better (including cross-fader effects, autoplay, smarter beat grid).

A the end of the day, I can live with these Serato shortcomings. However, I can not live much longer with DJay Pro not being integrated with Soundwitch. Indeed, the whole lighting realm is an absolute game changer. I am now playing with building scripts, and buying more and more light fixtures. There is no way back to this.

So, as much as I love DJay Pro, if there is no news about Soundswitch integration before my annual renewal (August/September), I will probably have to leave, sadly.

As I said above, the first thing is not to lose clients.
Not paying enough attention to the most requested new feature is not a good signal to the community (I mean : what is the voting system for, when nothing happens for years for top requests).

The good news is that the opposite is also true : I do think Soundswitch integration would bring loads a new clients. I am sure many Soundwitch users are waiting for this.
For DJay Pro this not just whatever detail feature. It is embracing the music AND light realm. Major Improvement.

Thanks for the additional input @Mixfit, @Sergio1 and @Davidv100.

No, please don’t increase the fee, unless you have separate tiers.

I only use djay for its amazing Automix, I don’t use djay for anything else really. Increasing the fee by $20 just to continue only using auto mix is just ludicrous.

Hi @dotunmo, welcome to the Community! Thanks for the feedback.

I agree with the sentiment of this post. Djay is an incredible product and is incredible value for money. This simply is not the right time in history to increase your prices, since you’re perfectly fine at the price you’re at now. Consumers had subscription fatigue before covid inflation, and with inflation being persistently sticky that subscription fatigue has converted into actually cancelling subscriptions.

Thanks for the input @gravitybass

If the price goes up. I expect updates weekly. I want all of my suggestions implemented immediately! And an endorsement deal!!!

Hahaaa! Nice one @Five-0 :joy:
