Looping problem. exits loop on own.

  • Device model iPad Pro 4th Gen
  • Version of operating system iOS 17.6.1
  • Version of djay 5.2.4
  • Hardware/controllers used Reloop Mixon 8

I activate an auto loop at the start of a track. it loops around as normal. I hit a button on Mixon 8 to half the loop length and sometimes even though the loop still looks active the track then continues to play as normal. I know you’re going to ask if I can get a video of it. ill try, again intermittent problem.

Hi @Nubium, thanks for the details about your setup and the issue. I was not able to reproduce this on my setup, but have passed it onto our engineering team for review. A video of the issue would definitely be helpful, so please share when you can. Thanks!

Hi @Nubium, our team has not been able to reproduce this issue. Were you able to capture a video of this? Thanks!

Hi. I do not have time to set things up and try to do this over and over again to catch video of it at the moment. FYI did a gig last night and it happened about 5 times in 3 hours. normaly happens when a track is playing though the sound system and the looped track has channel fader turned down. then when I start to bring the fader up the tracks exits the loop, however the loop “looks” like it is still active as it is highlighted. I hope this help?

Thanks for the additional info @Nubium. I’ll share this with engineering to see if that helps them reproduce your specific issue.

I press auto loop. then if I hit sync or some times if I just move the crossfader it cancel the loop. It happens randomly so I can’t repo

same. it just does it for mo reason.

I don’t use crossfader to mix so cant be that.

Hi @Five-0, thanks for sharing the details. I’ve merged your new topic with this existing one. Are you using Crossfader FX?

Not using crossfader fx.

Thanks for confirming @Five-0 and @strphone2128. We have still not been able to replicate this issue so it’s very challenging to troubleshoot and ultimately solve. It would be super helpful if one of you could capture a short video of this happening. Thanks!

At my gig last night the loop activated with no manipulation. I was in the middle of a transaction and when it activated it train wrecked the mix. (And I don’t need help doing that😂). Again it’s just random. But I was using stems and tidal at the time and touching the crossfader.

@Five-0 did the loop activate or deactivate on its own?

This time activated on its own

Okay, thanks for confirming.

Last night, DJing again for no reason it just exits the loop sometimes when I’m not even touching anything. Just for information, it may loop round four times and then randomly exit the loop.

Hello everyone, our engineering team has done some extensive testing and have noticed they can sometimes trigger the playhead to leave a loop when putting a lot of work onto djay. For example:

  1. Activate Neural Mix
  2. Skip far forwards in small steps (e.g. 8 beats)
  3. Activate a small loop
  4. Adjusting the loop size

Does this sound like what you are experiencing or would you say your issue(s) are different? Thanks!

that is fantastic that the team have managed to do that. However, that is not my experience. the loop (normal of 16 beats) just randomly exits when im doing nothing.

yeah, same thing. I just start the track on a loop at the beginning, do nothing on that deck, just browse library, put some effects of a playing deck or just dance and do nothing, and then after a minute or so good chance the track will just move forward on it’s own.
Also, even the loop in the middle of a track can just release itself. Same behavior as described already, it stays activated, just exits on it’s own and track goes on.

Okay, thanks for the additional info @Nubium and @Akrilovy
