After update, I lost all my smart playlists based on musical genre edited on each track, which I also lost on each track on my entire collection.

I didn’t lost stars for instance or cue points.

Hi @Julien_Apruzzese,

  1. What source of music are you using?
  2. What file type(s)?
  3. Where are the files stored?
  4. Did you modify the genre within djay or with another App?
  5. Did you create your Smart Playlists within My Collection in djay or in the iTunes/Music app?

1 — A folder of files on a MacBook Pro M1 Max.
2 — FLAC files.
3 — On the internal drive of a MacBook Pro M1 Max.
4 — Within Djay in My Collection.
5 — Smart playlists created within My Collection

Thanks for the additional info @Julien_Apruzzese.

  1. Did the Genre return to the original unedited genre or is it now blank?
  2. Are you using any streaming services in addition to the local FLAC files?
  3. Do you have duplicate versions of these same songs in other files formats on your Mac (MP3, M4A, WAV)?

Hi again @Julien_Apruzzese, I spoke with our engineering team and it sounds like your database reverted to a previous version. Do you have any cloud file sync service e.g. Dropbox/iCloud etc on your ~/Music folder?

1 — The Genre returned to the original unedited genre which was blank.
2 — Yes, I do my curation on Tidal then I download the track to have it on local by FLAC 16bits 44,1KHz. So Yes, Djay might see the same playlist on Tidal and on my hard drive.
3 — No only one local version in FLAC.

Yes, I use Dropbox but not for Djay and not in my Music folder.

Hi again @Julien_Apruzzese, do you have any backups around the time you made the edits? Ideally something like a time machine backup would be good.

Thank you for the reply — since I had the other problem there Tidal track versus local version track — need some help , I decided to redo entirely my library by deleting my djay Media Library file and all backups.

Okay, thanks for confirming @Julien_Apruzzese

I deleted my djay Media Library file following this process Deleting stored data | Algoriddim Support — so I redid all the analysis and all my previous cues points came back ?! Is it because of iCloud ? What is the process to reset everything ?

If you have iCloud Sync enabled yes this will store your hot cues:

How do you delete the file on iCloud to be able to do a fresh restart ?

You need to disable iCloud Sync for djay first. Then it will take a little time to stabilize.

Thank you very much for all the support — always smooth, responsive, and kind.
