Your question:
Hello everyone, is it possible to map individual crossfader FX effects to activate them directly, for example, the function that I activate “Vocal Cut” with a mapped button?
Unfortunately, I haven’t found this function yet, so please let me know if it’s possible. If not, would it be worth considering adding this option?
Hi @realdjpyro, it is not currently possible to MIDI map assignment of specific CFX. Please see below for the current list of MIDI mappable controls for CFX:
However, I have changed this topic from a Question to a Suggestion and will pass this onto the dev team for consideration. In the meantime, please use the blue Vote button at the top left of this page so we can gauge user demand. Thanks!
Thank you for the change. I already use the option “fx midi control on/off”. But this option is limited to one effect for quick use. I would already use two or three fx options quick/easy with one button.
Hi there, on the Rev 5 mapping and probably for all controllers…you can choose which cross fader effects you want. The built in Rev 5 mapping has first 4 by default (fade, filter, EQ and Echo), but you
can change that in mapping with the advanced control configuration for example fade is set to 0, filter 1, EQ 2 and so on. I have chosen Vocal Cut, EQ, Neural Fade and Neural Echo. You do this by pressing Select plus Vocal, melody, Bass, Drums.
Im a bit of a midi geek and i pressed the buttons whilst midi page is open to see what the comnand is. i contacted support over a mapping issue and they told me select was mapped. So i figured it out but didnt realise for ages the numbers in advanced changed the Crossfader effects, i was only told the first four had been mapped by default. So i thought well i see if i can map others, and hey presto you can. For me rev 5 is the best controller for djay pro right now.
I use the whole Rev-Family. My fav is the Rev7, but I will now map the midi commands on all three (Rev7 is already done). Thanks again. Do you play with the Mac or also mobile devices? I find that the jog wheels don’t work well with the ipad so far. But I haven’t tried it yet after the last update. I’ve only read that something has changed.
I mainly have MacBook i9 for prep work. I like to clean my files using platinum notes first before I transfer to Apple Music. Once in Apple Music I can then sync across to iPad or iPhone. I’m not a scratch dj so for me the jogs seem ok. They tightened up a little the drift on the platter when rotating. There was some notable drift, which would I presume affect scratching.
I have looked at the Rev 7 but lack of screens would do my head in. Pretty much why I didn’t go for the flx 10. I love the Rev 5 as it can be used as 4 deck controller if needed and it’s mapped so well with Djay Pro.
Hi @joccili, I have merged your new topic with this existing one. Currently your only option is to modify the MIDI mapping of your controller per the discussion above.
