Missing waveform and no audio M4A local file

Hi,
5.3 update I was playing a track and suddenly the audio stopped. I noticed at the same time the waveform disappeared.
When I stopped the track and loaded again it played ok, luckily it wasn’t at a gig :frowning:

is the file type M4A by any chance? I sometimes have this when preparing tracks, but not at live gigs. I already submitted a bug report like that for handling M4A files specifically.

As a workaround when you see this happen - immediately get instant doubles on the other deck and fade up. I made this action automatic in my mind :slight_smile: hope it gets fixed someday. But as of now, you are the first person to get the same bug as me who reported it. thanks!

I’ve the same problem, twice so far, but with a .flac-file… is there an official fix yet?

A) SUMMARY OF ISSUE:

  • Some tracks load, the moment there is any interaction, it just stops playing - interactions such as hot cue, start stop, jog wheel
    Sync and key lock is on

  • Problem happens even when sync and key lock is off

  • Sometimes a track will be most of the way through playing and will just stop

  • I have tried restarting iPad, DJAY and re-analysing all songs

  • All songs are saved to iPad hard drive, not streamed

  • Most songs are aiff

  • This has been happening for the past 3-4 months (last 2 DJAY updates) but is getting worse

  • No buttons on the controller have any effect - complete track freeze on that channel - the other channels can still be used and will still play if a song is loaded

  • My DJAY collection library is 2 years old (in that I have more than 150 sessions/previous playlists saved) and roughly 4,000 songs at any given time

I have been having the same issue. Has this really been solved? If so I’d love to know the answer. I’ve done 2 gigs now with DJay pro and both times a track has just stopped, i.e. still playing but no sound. I should say that this is after using autoplay for a couple of hours. Hitting ‘transiton’ sorts the problem but it’s still a problem to me.

Using Macbook Pro A1502 i5@2.6Ghz 8GB 256GB SSD running Big Sur

Latest version of Djay Pro (but not the one released yesterday)

Going to be very difficult to get a screen recording as it happens randomly (randomly after a couple of hours i guess) and anyway I’m too busy flirting with all the birds asking me for requests. All I can say is that everything looks normal but just no sound. Last time it happened the track was about 3/4 of the way through. I will try and note anything next time. I should add that this is on autoplay and i’m not touching anything on my laptop or controller at all.

I have also noticed that a very few tracks load up and play but with no vocals. In that case I notice the EQ knob has turned right down (on screen) so i’m guessing that’s just a bad recording or something so i deleted those tracks.
