Mixtour Po Neural Mix Buttons Not Functioning Properly

I activate the neural link button, and turn down the drums for example. There is a couple second lag, then it turns them down. But when I press the neural link to turn the drums back up, they stay down. Happens on both neural link buttons. Updated my firmware. Same thing.

  • Device model Mixtour Pro v1.01
  • Version of operating system macOS 12.7.6
  • Version of djay 5.2.6
  • Hardware/controllers used Mixtour Pro

Summary of the issue:

How to reproduce the issue:

The delay is probably due to computer performance. The first time you use it after loading the track, it may take a while for this to be implemented; if you then use it again, it works without any significant delay as long as the track is running. If you load the track into the deck again later, this happens again.
But I don’t understand the second part of the question. Why do you press the Neural Mix button again to turn the drums back? Do you take the drums out, switch back to EQ mode and then activate Neural Mix again?

The Neural Mix button will not turn the drums back up, you have to manually turn the knob to bring the drums back up.

The drums stay quiet when I manually turn them back up too. Super bummer, as this is the second Mixtour I’ve had problems with.

When I turn them up manually, they continue to stay quiet. Happens with all the knobs. When I turn Neural Mix back off, and manually turn up the knobs, the selected stems seem to stay stuck. I have to reload that track to get the track back to normal.

Hi @Noah1, here are a couple of things to try:

  1. Turn Keylock OFF
  2. Switch to the Neural Mix split waveform view. This forces djay to analyze the STEMs parts when the track is first loaded rather than when you enable a Neural Mix function.

Also, @Noah1, I recommend that you restart your laptop before DJing and make sure you do not have any other applications running in the background while using djay. Please understand that the Neural Mix functions are processing intensive, so you want to make sure your laptop is not already being taxed with things like iCloud backups and a bunch of unnecessary Chrome tabs open.

For more info on optimizing your laptop for DJing, please have a look a this blog post from Digital DJ Tips. I hope that helps!

Hello! It’s been a week since my last reply. I’m going to consider this topic completed for now so I can focus on others. However, please feel free to respond and we can definitely revisit this. Thanks!
