Official Press Release from NI:
Related topic and discussion from earlier this year:
I very much hope this is the good news needed for everyone involved, work colleagues and users - I know they’re a loyal bunch.
One thing I’d like to see would be some new Traktor hardware, specifically a mappable S4 mk4 with motorised jogs. I felt they missed a huge trick without being able to map those S4 mk3 jogs to any other software. Maybe even get it IOS compliant? That’s my (admittedly selfish) dream for them.
Indeed this seems like the best possible outcome given the situation.
Does this mean you guys can finally natively support all Traktor gear, or at least most of it?
We will have to see what happens as things change hands between NI and InMusic.
If the S4 MK3 works on iOS running djay Pro… I will never complain again ![]()
This would require a firmware update from the hardware manufacturer @hardbea7
If I’m not mistaken, all Denon DJ, Numark, and RANE devices are supported on djay Pro. Hopefully it’s Traktor’s turn now.
Not all are supported on both macOS and iOS. To work on iOS, the device must be USB Audio Class Compliant and USB MIDI Class Compliant. In some cases, this can be corrected with a firmware update from the hardware manufacturer. Also, NI has had a somewhat closed ecosystem - especially with their older devices.
I meant supported in Djay. I’d be very happy even if it’s just on Mac.
Understood. Thanks for clarifying.
The Prime 2 definitely isn’t.
