Hi @Slak_Jaw
So I’ve been playing with the new features on the latest update and as per the release video hosted by DJ Angelo I’ve mapped by Mixon 8 the same as he demonstrated for the NM crossfader feature
All is mapped OK but when using the mapped knobs to transition from one track to another I get this king of loud glitch, tinnie sound when transitioning from Track A to B or vice versa, rather than a smooth transition
Sometimes vocals will sound over the drum transitions for example when vocals are meant to be muted as I’ve not touched the relevant dial
I’ve replicated this on Windows and my ipad iOS version of DJP, anybody else having this? Is it something in my settings? I’ve a few videos of this happening if you need me to send
Thanks as always
Hi @Cuzer, I’ve gone ahead and made a new topic for you. In the future, as I stated in the 5.3 Announcement topic, it’s best to create new topics for specific issues so they don’t get lost in that larger general thread.
Please provide specific details about your setup not just “iPad” or “Latest Version”.
Device Model (ex. 2020 iPad Air 4th Gen):
Version of operating system (ex. iOS 17.3.1):
Version of djay (ex. 5.1.3):
Hardware/controllers used (ex. Reloop Ready): Hardware Firmware Version:
Can you please also try to capture a short video of the issue and upload it here? Please note the maximum file size is 200MB, so if your video is larger than that, you’ll need to upload it to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, then share a link to the file here. Thanks!
Apologies @Slak_Jaw
Yes I’ll sort this over the next few days, I have the videos on my iOS devices
Cheers
No problem @Cuzer. Sounds good. I’ll keep an eye on this thread for your reply…
iPad Pro 11
18.3.2 iOS version
Latest 5.3 djay Pro version
Reloop Mixon 8 pro
@Slak_Jaw H, hope the above is all you need, shortest video but should show what’s happening, same on my windows version as well
Thanks as always
Hey @Cuzer, sorry for the delayed reply here. I’ve been swamped the last several day! Thanks for the videos - these are super helpful. I tried to replicate this with my setup and could not reproduce that initial noise issue that you’re experiencing. I have passed this onto our team for further analysis. I’ll report back when I have more news.
OK @Slak_Jaw cheers, are you using the Mixon 8 Pro also?
Have you mapped the same controls to the NM crossfader stems as I have? As per Angelos’ video?
Only other thing I could think of is on the iPad version there are Advanced Options when I map thee knobs to the NM Crossfader, I’m away from the decks currently but will screengrab this later and send to you, wonder if something in these advanced settings is causing this to happen? It doesn’t seem to happen through the iPad on it’s own so think it’s linked to the Mixon Pro 8 somehow as I’m also having it on both platforms
Cheers
Cuzer
Hi @Cuzer, yes, I have that same setup. Looking forward to your screen grab.
See attached @Slak_Jaw
Just wondered if any of these should have specific settings on or off?
Also I had the same question re mapping of the ability to select the NM crossfader through the software, don’t think it exists currently, you made a separate thread on the main 5.3 group discussion but it linked back to this chat? Can you send to me the link or update please as I’d like to map that if/when possible
None of these should contribute to the issue you’re experiencing.
I’m not 100% sure what you’re talking about here. Can you please share a screenshot of the comments in the topic?
This topic @Slak_Jaw
When I click the link it brings me to back this thread, noise issues, not mapping
I’d also like to understand better the opportunities to map the crossfader FX selection to my Mixon8 if possible
Just think the link you’ve posted is wrong
Hi @Cuzer, please see below for the available Crossfader FX MIDI commands. Note you need to set the Target>Mixer
If these commands don’t meet your needs, you are welcome to create a new suggestion topic and I will pass this onto the dev team.
Thanks @Slak_Jaw
What I’m trying to do, maybe you can tell me if this is possible a you also have a Mixon8 Pro
When you hold shift and press the tap button this changes the equaliser controls to the NM EQ controls, coukd you map it by pressing shift/tap again then brings up the NM crossfader selection, one more tap takes it back to the EQ etc, so it cycles the three options?
Cheers
Cuzer
Hi @Cuzer, no it is not currently possible with the MIDI Learn tool to map a single button to multiple controls via additional button presses. You need to map each function to its own button.
Hi @Slak_Jaw
So mapping the NM crossfaderf to the same set up as DJ Angelo hasn’t worked for me
As I record through the booth out as soon as I turn the crossfader assigned knobs it still changes the booth/recoding volume so I get mental spikes in recording noise
My only solution I presume is an external MIDI controller just to map the NM crossfader to as I do like the idea of the feature
Quick question I’ve never used Alberton or synched more than one controller to DJay Pro, presume I can get a splitter for my iPad and connect the Mixon 8 and AN Other Midi controller either wired or bluetooth to the software?
Is this is a pretty straightforward process to set up? Can’t see too much about this in the instructions, thanks again for your help with a relative newbie
Cheers
Cuzer
