The naked €2 RCA cable move the waveform in the app, I don’t think so that would be normal behaving! Have you seen the shot?
Yes this is expected. The software is interpreting the noise/interference from the ungrounded/unconnected cable as a poor DVS signal. Personally, I recommend you also consider higher quality, properly shielded RCA cables.
Always use shielded cables. You get what you pay for.
I’ve use original Technics cables of course, that is not a bad, even not a top one cable. This €2 cable I have just lend from my neighbor just for testing :).
Question: Slak how software can detect ungrounded cable as poor DVS signal if input not lead in to app? (DVS=USB, but if switch to Phono, app still detect as poor DVS signal)
Hi again @Dysfunk_DJ, yes, an open ended wire will “collect” noise that sounds very similar to a bad DVS signal (no matter how cheap or expensive the cable is).
Regarding your last question: this is also expected. The Xone 96 mixer always sends a copy of the phono input to djay, no matter where the channel switch is actually set. Thanks!
