New Reloop Mixtour Pro Hardware

Finally got one. Was visiting Germany and couldn’t resist the Thomann Music Laid Back Luke Bundle!

After a few weeks, my verdict is that it’s definitely got some quirks, but I enjoy DJ’ing with it and I find the built-in mapping quite good. It’s a solid part of my kit now.

It requires some muscle memory before you can reach full potential with it… three layers for most buttons makes you head spin at first.

I love mine! Have played two gigs with it already, and have started to get my head around the 3-4 deck workflow. Bought an M2 iPad Air to go with it. Totally bulletproof!

After working out the kinks, the final djay+Mixtour Pro setup is very satisfying and ultra-portable!

Oh! Love the caps. Are these the Chroma ones?

  • The caps are made by Coolorcaps (including the snazzy 40 caliber bullet encoder)
  • Up/down faders are made by Reloop.
  • But the Chroma Caps I own, fit just fine on the Mixtour Pro, only reason I didn’t use them I didn’t have enough left to complete the set.

I just preordered mine at $550 (AUD) … won’t be here til Dec.

What cases do you recommend to take to the clubs/events, please?
(and some interstate/overseas events)

DJTT Chroma Caps on mine. Also, I bought a Decksaver. Been travelling to several countries so far with it like that - even in my checked bag. No issues. Reloop also make their own case for the Mixtour Pro. That’s what Laidback Luke tours with.

Thanks for sharing @Michael_Wisniewski. Great idea to pair with the Starlight. Definitely miss jogwheels sometimes when mixing with this.

Thank you for the photo! That looks neat.

So you aren’t worry about the backing part of the mixtour pro being crush/compressed during travel?

Also what’s the stem split do please? Just curious :pray:

You’re welcome @PoyTB. I just wrap it in some clothes inside my suitcase. The housing feels very solid to me, but if you’re concerned, definitely check out the Reloop carrying case.

The STEMS Split is a custom function that I’ve added to my personal MIDI Mapping where it Splits the Acappella to one deck and the Instrumental to the other deck using the Instant Double function. Similar to what I’ve done on my personal Mixon 8 Pro and Reloop Ready mappings.

Instant Double function… Where can I find more about this please? Very smart setup!

Does Djay have this in iOS version? If so, I would assume it’s in the midi mapping section?

Same here, when I’m flying, I wrap it in rubber laptop sleeves (plus the deck saver). Fits neatly and securely in my carry-on bag. I agree the MIxtour Pro housing feels solid.

I also got the Reloop carrying case, which is great. Mainly use it once I’ve landed and have a “homebase” to work from. If you’re traveling through Europe, Thomann has a discounted “Laidback Luke kit” which includes the carrying case - at almost the same price as the Mixtour Pro by itself. The carrying case fits the decksaver with space to hold your usb cables and chargers.

@PoyTB you can access Instant Double by long pressing on the album art next to the overview waveform. Yes, this is available on iOS.

Yes, this is also available in the MIDI Mapping section near the bottom when you have the Target set to Deck 1,2,3,4.

Hey @Michael_Wisniewski do the Hercules Starlight jogwheels have capacitive touch on the top surface and nudge capability on the sides?

  1. Yes, the Hercules Starlight jog wheels have:
  • capacitive touch on the top
  • nudge/pitch bend on the sides
  1. There is also a dedicated “Vinyl” button that switches the jog wheel tops between “Vinyl Scratch” and “Pitch Bend” modes. (the sides always stay in nudge/pitch bend mode).

Excellent. Thank you @Michael_Wisniewski

You can duplicate the midi on the left and it will run in the series of that!!! WTF… this is madness!!

THANK YOU.

Thanks again @Slak_Jaw for the screenshots.

You mentioned that it’s a custom function where you press a button and one deck will have Acapella and the other will be instrumental.

How did you set up multiple actions with just one button as such?

Like i can see how you have the same name “Note EQ” but 7 of them according to the screenshot .
or Note A#-1 is 4 in total. How to add multiple of that please?

You’re welcome @PoyTB. Yeah, the Duplicate function is the key. I explain in detail how to map this in the linked thread below:
