Hi,
As mentionned by a bunch of users in others topics, the jog wheel emulation is not accurate in Djay as it is in Serato (for example).
As you can see in the video below, after 3 anti clockwise rotations, my finger and the cue marker are not aligned at all anymore with Djay.
It’s same with ipad or MAC…
Any chance this can be fixed ?
- Device model 2022 iPad Air5th Gen
- Version of operating system iOS 17.2
- Version of djay 5.2.10
- Hardware/controllers used Pioneer DDJ Rev5

Tested this myself and you are correct there is drift with rotations.

I hope they will able to fix this… last showstopper for me to move definetly to Djay…
Hi @Slak_Jaw any ideas for this one ?

Another good example that some controllers like the REV5 should be compatible A-to-Z instead of going for the longest possible controller list with reliability issues. The REV5 is about the closest we can get from “club-standard-without-jog-screens”. Therefore this one should be high on the 100% compatible list.

Especially this one, clearly one of the most popular…
Rev 5 offers probably the most tight integration with djay pro. I agree jog wheels do need tightening.

Hello @Dysfunk_DJ,
I will be fully happy when Djay mapping allows DDJ-REV5 performance mode buttons to summon the corresponding Djay performance screens. But this is a totally different topic ofc (@Slak_Jaw is aware of this), already in discussion in another threat (I am just saying why I think DDJ-REV5 is not 100% compatible yet, besides the Jog rotation syncing issue exposed above).
Hi @DJTonyBlanck, sorry for the delayed response. I have passed this onto our hardware team to see if they have any suggestions.
In the meantime, you could try making an edit of the built-in MIDI mapping and adjusting the Speed and Reaction in the Advance Control Configuration for each jog wheel. This will like require some trial and error to get the “accuracy/feel” you’re looking for.
If you’re unfamiliar with MIDI mapping in djay, please refer to the linked FAQ below. The process is actually easier than you might first think. I hope that helps!
Hi @Slak_Jaw, thx for your reply.
I’ve already tested different midi settings with no success… and to be perfectly honest, I think you guys should deliver something tightened
these parameters are for a more personal feel based on something already on point.
Don’t hesitate if the hardware team asks to test some settings…
Tony.

Hi @DJTonyBlanck, thanks for the additional feedback. Sorry that didn’t help. I heard back from the hardware team and this will be adjusted in an upcoming djay release (likely 5.3.1) - thanks again for the input! In the meantime, they are recommending that you set the Speed slider to 1,115%. I hope that helps!

You’re welcome @DJTonyBlanck. Happy to help!
Just to follow up…
I gave it a quick try yesterday, but the speed slider goes by decimals step (with my ipad) and I wasn’t able to set the recommended value.
Anyway, the target seems clearly to be between 1,1% and 1,2%.
Let’s wait for 5.3.1.
