Pioneer DDJ-SX2 MIDI Mapping

I had a good play with this last night. For the functions I use it for, it all seems to work just fine. I must stress I am a home DJ that hasn’t played live for over a decade, with a background in mixing one vinyl record into another and using a few effects here and there, rather than cutting tracks up on the fly etc…

The only obvious point I noted is that the channel LEDs do not light up, so it is always worth keeping an ear on your gain to ensure you’re not in the red, as the mixer won’t tell you.

Interestingly as well, it sems to play even if the phono channel is selected, i.e. there is no need/requirement to select PC on the channel.

DDJ SZ is supported

Timothy, do you have the midi map file available?

Hi Andrew Scopes,

could you contact us via support@algoriddim.com and send us a blank midi mapping file of the RX?
Thank you in advance.

Cheers,
Lukas E.

Hi Garcia Miguel Angel Rodriguez,

please contact the virtual dj support for the mapping. This forum is for djay related questions only.

Cheers,
Lukas E.

Hi guys. Where i need to paste this mapped file? Is DDJ-SX2 comunicate with VDJ7 Pro?

Any news of the DDJ-RX, (not XDJ-RX) mapping? States that it only works with Recordbox, but the controller is identical to the DDJ-SX2. Was anyone able to get the DDJ-RX to work? I like the overall appearance of the RX, over the SX2, as I dont like SILVER PLATTERS! lol

Here’s how you do it. Connect your DDJSX2 to a Mac computer, or laptop. Export midi file config using iTunes, or by clicking on the midi mapping section on the menu of DJ Pro. Import said midi mapping file to iPad. Done

I have it at my house, so I know it works

I use a MacBook Pro, so after plugging in the DDJ-SX2, DJ Pro immediately recognized the device. As far as a new mapping for the DDJ SX2, I agree it’s needed, or maybe a new build of DJ PRO?? Instead of random hot fixes. Corrections needed in my opinion: ( auto gain control, Fix the red loop indicators on the decks, and working post fader effects. ) I may never leave the platform

The DJ quality PLX-1000 direct drive analog turntable is designed for DJs who enjoy the look, feel, and performance of vinyl for music playback. The model offers a highly familiar, user-friendly control layout, high-torque direct drive mechanism, and exceptional audio playback quality. Combine the PLX-1000 with a Pioneer professional series DJM mixer for an ideal system for true vinyl enthusiasts.

User-friendly Control Layout

The PLX-1000 provides a user friendly layout familiar to top DJs of the past and present, providing quick tempo control capability on the right side of the player, start/stop button on the left side, and a high-torque platter with a lighted speed guide

High-Torque Direct Drive System

The direct drive mechanism of the PLX-1000 provides high-torque resulting in stable rotation and exceptional control. The turntable can achieve a starting torque of at least 4.5kg/cm and can reach its fixed rotation speed within 0.3 seconds (at 33 1/3 rpm).

Sound Quality Design

To create an extremely stable player and prevent vibration, Pioneer utilized a heavy-mass zinc die-cast chassis for the top section of the player, reinforced with a bottom section made of 8-mm thick resin. The base of the unit was further enforced with 9-mm thick vibration-damping material that results in extremely stable playback. The tone arm also received great attention in build quality and design to maximize performance, using rubber insulation to minimize howling effects during audio playback. The RCA jacks feature gold-plated machine-cut parts for low impedance for excellent sound quality output.
