Playhead missing in djay v5.2.6 iOS in hardware mode

Thanks for the additional feedback @Pierre_Henry. The team is working on it. In the meantime, please switch to Pro Mode to show the playhead marker on the overview waveform.

  • Version of djay (5.2.6):
  • Hardware/controllers used (DDJ-FLX4):

Summary of the issue:
When on Hardware Mode 2 Decks the little red bar showing the position in the track doesn’t show. The issue is only on this exact mode.

How to reproduce the issue:
Switching to Hardware Mode 4 Decks or any other mode shows the red bar correctly.

Hi @redlockies, please use search before creating new topics. I have merged your new topic with this existing one. Thanks. This is a known issue. In the meantime, please switch to Pro Mode to bring back the playhead marker. Thanks!

This is really bad. I have invested heavily in Algoriddim. I need the play head on 2-deck Hardware mode like right now for my show tomorrow.

Pro mode is not really going to work because I need quick access to effect selection on hardware mode.

Just add the play head back ASAP. Don’t wait until the next update.

The only big thing worth for a single iOS update is the play head.

Seeing the same thing in hardware mode: iPad Pro 13” 4th gen and iOS and djay all latest versions

Hi there,
The same here with IPad 9.

It would be great if we have an option to downgrade in such cases.

Most of the time updates are installed over night and such a bug may cause a lot of troubles on DJ gigs.

Cheers

Hi @Martin_Sarafov, unfortunately because of the way updates are handled in the app stores it’s not possible to rollback to a previous version. Sorry about that.

However, if you switch to Pro Mode, in the meantime, the playhead will be visible. In the future, I personally recommend that you turn off automatic updates so you are in full control of all app updates. Linked below are my personal recommendations that I shared a long time ago before joining the Algoriddim team. I believe these are still relevant no matter what DJ software and hardware you use. I hope that helps!

Hi @Slak_Jaw
Thanks for the reply. I’m afraid you are absolutely right. Thanks for the advice! I’m using ipad for quite short time and didn’t know I can do a full system backup on my PC. I will keep that in mind.
Thank you once again.
Keep up the good work with this amazing DJ app.
Cheers

You’re very welcome @Martin_Sarafov. Happy to help!

I just came here to say I would really appreciate a fix for this in next release. It’s pretty annoying since one of the major functions of the overview waveform is to see where you are in the track.

Thanks for the input @dibb. Yes, the team is working on this and it will be fixed in the next update.

When is the next update approximately?

Hi @Adrian_Cardenas, we don’t have a release date yet. I’ll share news here when I have it though. Thanks!

This is very annoying

I am having this exact same issue with my iPad Pro M4 which is updated to iPadOS 18.2

For now, until then they fix it use pro mode.

Thanks for sharing @Miley. Our teams are aware and this will be fixed in the next update. As @Dysfunk_DJ mentioned, in the meantime please switch to Pro Mode to bring back the playhead marker. I hope that helps!

Dear DJay Community Team,

Following the release of version 5.2.6, I noticed a UI change in the top bar displaying the currently playing song( I think it is vawe form)… Specifically, the white straight line that used to indicate “the current moment” in the song has been replaced with a red marker, as shown in the attached screenshot.

This new design has made it quite challenging to track where I am in the song while actively using the app. The red marker is less clear compared to the previous white line.

Is there a way to revert this back to its previous design? I’ve attached two visuals for reference:

The updated, less intuitive design (marked as “1”).

The previous, clean and more understandable design (marked as “2”).

I would greatly appreciate your guidance on this matter.

Thank you in advance for your support!

Best regards,

Serhan Tekoglu

Hi @Serhan_Tekoglu, I have moved your post to this topic. This is a know issue that will be fixed in the next release of djay. In the meantime, please switch from Hardware Mode to Pro Mode to make the playhead marker in the overview waveform more visible. I hope that helps!
