At the moment we have what we have. Sometimes users install all updates automatically and this can lead to unpredictable consequences. Some updates make an application unusable for a specific group of users. I understand that reverting a change can result in other users not being able to use the application, and sometimes it’s extremely difficult to undo changes that have been made because they affect multiple subsystems. What I don’t like is that bug fixes are released as “feature releases” a long time after the bug is found and possibly fixed. But it will be available only after a big release which is scheduled for example in 2-4 weeks (depending on the company’s internal release cycle). The priority for a company if you are developing software for professional use should be quality, not a race for new features. Therefore, there should be a public beta test and if it happens that an update breaks something for a large number of users, then the problem should be solved with a hotfix release as soon as possible, and not in the next big release which may occur in a few weeks or months. Especially if the user does not have the opportunity to return to the previous version of the application.
Well, practice shows that if you use, for example, the iPad for work, then update only when you are sure that everything will work after the update and you always need to have a backup plan. Works - do not touch.
Having a software working on a overkill laptop, I am not going to walk over egg shells and worry about the update maybe not working or some crap like that. I want it to work and if its not working when I need it to, thats a huge problem and is very annoying to see. So they are going to hear a customer complain and call them out. @emily I need an update you take too long I don’t have time like these other guys !
Algoriddim - This is seriously frustrating, having contributed to posts of a similar nature before and offering to do beta testing for free (which was declined after making an official request, despite officials suggesting I made the official request) I too face financial hardship as a result of a seemingly buggy update - confirmation of which would be appreciated.
I have a gig this coming Saturday, whilst practicing a routine a couple of nights ago I nearly blew my KRK studio speakers adjusting the master volume control knob with a very slight increment. Basically the volume went from low to maximum with the slightest of movement of the volume control knob. I can replicate this over an over by simply adjusting the volume. Whilst this may not seem relative to the posts already mentioned, I also noticed that the Deck A Mid level control knob for the EQ (which I have mapped for neural instrumental volume) also suffers from jumping between full and completely off with slight adjustment. I genuinely thought I had faulty control knobs. @Afshyn_Jinnah is this similar to the filter issue that you are experiencing?
Naturally I need both of these bits to work for the gig I have booked. Not contemplating that this could be software related as the symptoms point to defective control knobs, I actually took today off work to drive a 120 mile round trip to drop the ‘faulty’ controller at the only repair shop I could find that stock the Rane spares.
I’m picking it up tomorrow with two new control knobs fitted, at a cost of £95 for parts an labor. So this coupled with my time and the cost of fuel for the journey equates to a relatively substantial sum… but the kick in the teeth is having gone through all of this for nothing, I still won’t be able to use the equipment at the gig as the software is the issue.
I understand your suggestion, but for a dj that most likely scratches and beat juggles during performances (pretty much the target market of a controller with a motorised platter) what other controller would you suggest is used as a backup? I know I can’t perform the routines I do on the rane one with ddj400 for example
its been a week and no update or anything whats going on even support doesn’t work and respond on time. People are having issues I hate being on the same boat as everyone but we need a fix if you want people to continue using this program

Reading this, I see that algoriddim has erred in a not insignificant way on the software release, and I truly hope they offer some sort of compensation to users who identify that they have lost income and reputation because of it. Controller mapping is a fairly huge deal for those of you who use them, so when a software update breaks what had been working, that’s monumental, when you have come to rely on it as your main platform over others, and the controller is listed as supported on the company’s website.
(I just don’t know how popular the Rane controllers in question are…are there only 2 of you out there?)
as to the beta/testflight suggestion/request…that’s a great idea and they need to hear often and more from working pros about this. so until they do, they won’t entertain the possibility of adding to their infrastructure to prevent issues like this from happening in the first place

@Emily don’t just tell them, make them read our forum so they understand our position and get a little bit of context. I am playing 4 events in a row this weekend and this has been so crazy to hear from this software company. I thought at least letting everyone know of my issue a week ago and hopefully be resolved would be good for the weekend but it is not the case and I am Upset. I want to be compensated by this issue, as a loyal customer and getting this treatment isn’t right. I had a Denon Prime 2 for s short while but didn’t like the Engine software and sold it and bought the Rane One which has been pretty good, albeit a few Algoriddim hiccup’s…
Is anyone else suffering with the sync button since the update? Sometimes I’ll press it to get the songs synced, the immediately switch it off again so I can scratch / beat juggle etc. I’m finding I’m have to press it around 4-6 times in some instances to turn it off. The behaviour to to turn it on is slightly strange too. I can’t seem to hold the platter whilst the song is playing and sync, the platter has to be spinning?
If you use sync only like that you could change the behavior in settings. In Settings > General change the sync the from “BPM and Beats” to “BPM only”.

if you have any issues regarding the software program that doesn’t include our issue, please stop asking questions about things that don’t include [RANE ONE glitches since 4.0.3 update]. Update after using 11 inch M1 iPad pro with Rane One Controller :
Honestly could be a lot smoother and visually appealing with the appearance. Add tempo sliders and give an option to remove the jog wheels.
Takes a lot of battery 40 min of usage was 30% down from 100% on my iPad, weird with a 4gb RAM and M1 takes this much. It weirdly takes a lot of battery. Help fix this !!!
Deck A filter knob while mixing live was very touchy. When off the filter and moving to a HI-LOW filter knob it cuts off sound (Literally) and ruins that side of mixing while Deck B works fine. Deck A filter was so bad when it moved it back to a neutral position, it cut off sound completely and acted for spilt seconds it was on either side phase cutting the music of Deck B all the way.
FIX THIS @Emily, again i’m gonna read “our team will get back soon…” like seriously put a dev in this forum not a chat representative. The last update was 2 weeks ago, the last update from that was a month before. Do you expect me to wait this long ??? I am so confused Pls respond ASAP or I will go to head office regarding no response to my initial request.
Conclusion: I need my M1 Pro Macbook to work with my Rane controller. End of story !
wait - would you rather the people who write the code stop their work on your problem to talk to you about it, or just do the work? The Emilys in a situation like this fill a key role.
yes, it adds a layer of potential communications errors, but it allows the people who do the real work to focus on their jobs.
and “algoriddim Emily” if you read this, I would say it may be time to have some pro users interface directly with the Lead dev(s) just to keep the peace/customers/subscribers. while this forum helps with config and usage bugs, a major supported interface losing significant functionality is considerably more serious

In all honesty Emily, all they need to do is re release 4.0.2, that would quickly fix the Rane one issues and only Rane one users need to update whilst Algoriddim find a fix for 4.0.3,
