I’m going to GC at opening to pick up a Rane One MK2 tomorrow (Tues, 26th). I hope to God that everything works as it should with djay Pro!
Hi @d.Jaebren, this RANE ONE MK2 hardware is officially supported by djay on macOS, iOS and Windows.
Out of the gate it supports macOS, Windows, Windows Arm and iOS! That is great news!
Mojaxx gets a bit giddy when he demos the new Pad Mode options! I have to admit the Pad Mode options look really cool.
(djay Pro info at 17:45 min)
Curious…
When set to Pro mode, Rane MK2 says it’s an external mixer. My understanding is when a controller is connected, it wouldn’t say it’s an external mixer (only other mixers like an s11 or reloop elite, etc.
Hi @d.Jaebren, the RANE One is an External Mixer Mode device so this is expected behaviour. This is pretty common for larger controllers like this, the RANE Four, the RANE Performer, Pioneer XDJ-RX3, Pioneer REV7, etc..
Yes as expected as the Rane Mk2 can also be used as a standalone mixer with use of hardware effects if required.
Are there any missing features? I’d love to get my hands in one of these but don’t want to be surprised with stuff that doesn’t work as expected. The stem effects, for instance, would be a deal breaker if missing.
Awesome, thanks for replying!
There are missing features:
The secondary function of the small pads don’t work
The channel effects on the filter don’t work
The new sampler volume knob doesn’t work or detect midi function for mapping
There is no silent que
The secondary function of a cappella and instrumental stem effects don’t work on the designated a cappella and instrumental buttons
These are the things that I have noticed that do not work using iOS on the Rane MK2

Hi I’ve been using the controller for a couple days now I would like to share
the things that I have noticed that do not work using iOS on the Rane MK2 I’m trying to troubleshoot this to determine if this is a hardware issue a software issue or a firmware issue. Someone suggested I have a defective controller. I’m trying to bring this to the community in order to troubleshoot to see if these issues are user error or something else.

The mapping for serato is more robust than in djay since it’s a serato based controller.
The filter only works on the mixer. It is a standalone feature of the unit. Channel fx are only software based so it has to be custom mapped in djay to mimic how it works in serato.
I’m not sure about the two stem buttons on the side of each deck.
AFAIK silent cue is not a feature that’s in djay at this time.
The small pads on the top only have primary pad functions unlike serato which have secondary pad functions.
The sampler knob afaik is a standalone feature which may require you to go to the settings and set the sampler output to ch5/6. Try it out and let us know if this is the case.
What I mentioned here is only based on what I researched about the mkii. I only have the Rane one mki to work with right now.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the reply. I did try moving the sampler to other channels. I tried moving them through all the channels one through nine it doesn’t work through any of them. The sampler knob is unable to be midi mapped I’m wondering if it’s not class compliant. I was really disappointed about the channel effects not working. I don’t really see a way to map those to mimic the Serato functions. I wonder if Djay will be updating this in the future.
Can you post a pic of the audio output options given in the audio setting for the sampler?
Just let ordered mine today. I wish I would have seen this post firts
There have been issues with the Rane performer since day 1. There have been many recent updates that make it feel like the Rane products are an after thought. Stems and stem split has a dreadful delay and makes the screens glitch out.
Hi,
I got mine today, and I’m using it with DJ Pro on the iPad. Here are the things I’ve found out of the box thus far:
Things That Do Not Work
-
The echo out effect on the Acapella and Instrumental buttons does not work. The acapella and instrumental buttons work out of the box but with no echo effect. Pressing Shift + Acapella/Instrumental does nothing. Setting the “Primary” mode in settings disables the buttons.
-
The Stem Effects do not work. This is the feature I was looking forward the most, and I’m disappointed that it’s absent out of the box.
-
The channel effects do not work. Pressing the channel effects button with or without shift, does nothing.
-
The secondary function of the “mini pads” does not work, just like you said.
Things That Work
-
The sampler volume knob works out of the box for me, and I can successfully control the sample volume with it - no mapping needed. Since yours doesn’t work out of the box, and it isn’t even detected when trying to map it, you may have gotten a defective unit.
-
Silent Cue also works out of the box, but you have turn it on in settings. To do that, press Shift + Menu and you will see “Silent Cue”. Then, scroll to the right to where it says “Swap Sensor”, then scroll to the right again and change from “No” to “Yes”. After that, you can then press the Silent Cue button and you’ll be able play the track with silently until you press one of the hot cue buttons.
-
Using the EQ knobs to control stem volume works. I’m not crazy about this feature, but it’s cool to know that it works out of the box without any mapping.
Strange Things
- The two main faders work as expected - they raise the volume up and down - but they are not synced with the faders on the DJay Pro app. That is, the app’s faders won’t move. The original Rane One was in sync with the faders out of the box.
Hi,
I’m using the Rane One MKII with the iPad Pro M4, and I can’t preview a track from a playlist. Nothing is playing on the headphones. I always have to drag the track to a deck first. Can anyone help me? Do I need to configure a specific setting?
Thanks
The faders might not connect to the UI because I assume the mkII is used in external mixer mode. Not sure what the default mode is for the og.
Thanks for the feedback @DjHabitat, @DjNoii and @jcalpha. I have passed this onto our engineering team for further review.
