Would it be possible to get an official statement from Algoriddim with regards to the lack of stem effects?

I suspect there must have been technical reasons behind the decision to not include them out of the box - perhaps the app is incompatible with this functionality and it must be updated before stem effects can work. It would be nice to know if there are plans to add this in the future and, if possible, a rough timeline as to when it would be added.

Hello everyone, here’s some preliminary info:

  • No Channel FX on filter is expected behaviour
  • Main Channel Faders: the RANE One MK2 is an external mixer mode device where the MK1 is internal mixer mode. The faders not moving on the MK2 is expected with external mixer mode devices.
  • Track Preview from playlist is also not supported with external mixer mode devices.
  • With the current djay built-in mapping, the SHIFT + acapella/instr actions route the current SW FX to the respective stem(s). In Serato, these actions trigger the mute FX for these stems, which could be causing confusion for some users. The dev team is looking into adjusting this to match Serato in a future update.

Hi there,

Overall I’m really impressed by the mapping! There is one big thing for me though, since I usually always play with stems EQ (absolutely love that, to gradually increase melody stems instead of sudden start). I noticed that when I activate stems eq on the MK2, it also still uses the regular eq’s, I guess because of the hardware itself. It’s especially noticeable when going for acapella using the eq’s.

Do you know if this is something that can be adjusted in the software in an update, or is this just a hardware limitation?

Here’s an issue that I have experiencing.

When iPad m4 is connected to the Rane one Mk2 and DJay pro is open, after a session, I put the iPad to sleep by quick pressing the power button and leave the MK2 on.

When returning for another session, DJay pro is frozen. The software will not respond to anything I do to the controller and the software will not respond to any touches (clicks on the ipad screen).

What’s more curious, I swipe up to close DJay pro and when I restart the app, the software still doesn’t respond to the MK2.

The only workaround is to shut down and restart the ipad. Then everything works as expected.

The other workaround is when my session is over, unplug the iPad from the controller and when I plug it back in to start a new session, works fine.

While the issue doesn’t impact my ability to DJ, but deserve to be noted

I just did some testing, and it is possible to have just stems eq, without the freq eq also adjusting. Sometimes it still takes out both eq’s from one knob, and when I switch back and forth stems eq - classic eq - stems eq it acts accordingly again. Haven’t figured out yet when it’s happening though

Hi, after some more testing, I’ve noticed the following too:

  • the switch to software fx works randomly. Sometimes it works as supposed to, sometimes it’s unable to turn on the selected fx in the software.
  • sometimes the overall volume is less in the right deck compared to the left. It’s noticeable in the software “leds” that they don’t ever touch the reds, while they did on the left with the same song. I have to restart the software for it to return to normal. I only had this 2 runs but I’m sure of the difference. I have no clue yet why this was happening, I’ve tried resetting all eq’s and stuff before restarting

Hi @Len91, thanks for the feedback. Regarding the lower volume on the right deck, can you please share a screenshot of your djay Settings>Sound? In particular, I’d like to know what your Gain Settings and Headroom Settings are. Thanks!

I have the same problem, I tought it was the auto gain that was poor lately. Seen the same on my Rane Performer.

I’m sorry for the late reply. I ended up sending the mk2 back while I was still in my 30 days, since I own a mk1 too and just didn’t find it worth the money while it’s not yet perfect. So I can’t record the video unfortunately. It might of course be possible that I did something weird that caused the lower level, but I believe I tried everything to undo that possibility
