Yeah if you divide the employee count by the number of brands, the numbers get low very quickly - and how many of those are office/logistics/managers?
I once worked for a company with around 20 employees, but there was only one designer, one quality control and only six or so doing the manufacturing/testing/repairing.

Hi everyone,
I bought the Rane System One last week after selling my almost-new Rane Performer, and I must be honest: I am beginning to regret the change. My Rane Performer worked perfectly for my workflow, but I am experiencing several issues with the System One that are making me lose confidence in the unit.
I am not posting this to attack Rane or other users. I genuinely want to know whether these are known bugs, settings I may have missed, firmware issues, or whether I may have a faulty unit.
My setup is:

Serato DJ Pro

Engine DJ / standalone mode

Music from Serato and Engine/internal media
The issues I am experiencing are:

Serato beatgrid/waveform mismatch
When I connect the System One to my MacBook Pro using Serato DJ Pro, the beatgrids look correct on Serato on my laptop, but on the System One screen the grids appear slightly out. This is worrying because the same tracks look properly gridded inside Serato. -
Engine DJ BPM/grid editing inconsistency
In Engine, access to BPM/grid adjustment seems inconsistent. Some files allow more adjustment, while others only show limited options such as BPM or Reset. In some cases, pressing Reset appears to do nothing. -
Possible BPM drift / speed change during playback
A few times while playing a track in Engine, I noticed the BPM/speed increase and then reduce on its own without me intentionally moving the pitch fader. This is very concerning for live performance. -
General reliability concerns
I have seen so many positive YouTube reviews, but none of the reviews I watched mentioned these issues. I appreciate that reviewers may have different workflows or may not test long enough to expose problems, but my experience so far has been very different.
Has anyone else experienced any of the above, especially:

I would really appreciate any advice before I decide whether to keep the unit, request a replacement, or return it. I loved my Rane Performer, and at the moment I feel very disappointed and stressed because I sold a setup that worked perfectly for me.

Hi @Hans_Mulleur, sorry to hear youâre experiencing these issues. However, this community is specifically for Algoriddim djay and this hardware is not yet supported on our software. I would try reaching out on the Serato, Engine DJ or RANE forums.

I wish I could return mines but that window has long been closed. Honestly if I were you I would return it now while you can or else your gonna be stuck like me waiting on false advertisment and a vast improvement that engine dj needs. My main gripe with engine dj is their beat grid system, it is terrible, if they are unable to improve in this area, why not just support one library and solve that problem.

@Slak_Jaw many thanks for understanding. I actually purchased the Rane System One because i have a believe that once it can natively support djay pro it would be one of the best. To be honest I have a feeling this could happen by the end of this month (after djay proâs 20th anniversary). Thatâs the reason I purchased it.

Youâre welcome @Hans_Mulleur. Unfortunately, I cannot confirm when support will be coming as itâs largely out of our control.
Just for some balance here, Mojaxx has been using the System One as his main gig machine with both Engine and Serato and after several months he said you would have to âpry it from my cold dead handsâ he is so impressed with it.
Ive also been using Engine since around 2021 and im hugely impressed with it, ive had constant updates to my 9yr old device and I find the user experience to be fantastic, but then i donât rely on beat grids to DJ with, i just DJ. However from my experience they are largely accurate with only a small portion of my tracks being out, usually the ones with an interlude of weird drum fill prior to the first downbeat.
So whilst it seems all the rage at the minute to keep dumping on Engine on internet forums, letâs just remember there are also thousands of happy users of the platform who donât feel the need to dive onto the internet and preach to everybody about it.

As far as the update goes, nobody is conning anybody here, I have already explained the reasons why there is a delay in adding this functionality above.
DJ companies all have voluntary beta testers who help them with testing new versions of firmware or software prior to release. Serato do, Algoriddim do, Traktor do, VDJ do, Alpha do, InMusic do. This means there are people here who have far more visibility of the hard that is going on in the background to try and get versions ready for release.
Amazingly very few of these people are posting bilge about being conned on the internet, why do you think that might be? Could it just be that they have an understanding of the situation? Might it be useful if people with less of an understanding of it took some blatant hints from the people who do rather than ignoring it?

If youâre using a moving platter controller, itâs possible that itâs behaving the same way a turntable does, so youâre experiencing wow and flutter as the platter rotates. Try using it with the platters disabled to see if it stops.
Have you ever mixed with a real turntable before? Either with vinyl or DVS? There is a setting in Serato to mitigate wow and flutter but I prefer to leave it off as I didnât like how it felt with it on.
As Slak has said, you are better off posting this on the Serato and Engine forums where people are far better placed to assist.

I use a mixstream pro which also uses engineos, and after learning more about the ux on the rane system one, the best engineos experience is on the rane system one, at least compared to whatâs on the mixstream and especially compared to djay pro. Engineos isnât bad at all but it for sure doesnât have all the bells and whistles djay pro has.
Thatâs actually quite impressive and what I imagine an incredibly efficient operation.
