Spotify never have and never will allow dj apps other any kind to play their contents for commercial use saying that spotify and Itunes for that matter need to wake up to the fact that dj’s are the “salepeople” for the contents as the public here what is being played then seeks it out for themselves. If they even allow a premium plus service for dj’s their revenue would increase 2 fold overnight but they will not do this purely for contractual purposes only by the various publishing and music houses…
As someone who is far from an export in music or djaying I downloaded this app for GBP 10 because the app claims to seamlessly integrate with your media library an flexibility to mix music on the go. I wanted to use the app to mix together songs that I would then use for a sport I do which involves assigning music to it.
I work in finance and it is absolutely against the law to advertise a product that could be misunderstood by a ‘retail’ or every day joe soap. In the app and dj world I am completely oblivious, but shouldn’t the wording be obvious for people like me? I think this is another money hungry scam and I will definitely be leaving a bad review unless I get offered a refund for the money I have already put in to an overall useless (to me) product.
Nope, I’m not “asking and expecting algoriddim to assist me on facilitating a breach of their partners policy”…that is an absurd statement. I’m simply saying that the wording on the app in iTunes is not clear to the regular retail client.
I wonder if Spotify would go for recording mixes and keeping them within the Spotify cloud. I suppose the possibility of that would depend on the wording of the license agreement.
