Thanks for the suggestion @djbo. I have shared this with our dev team for consideration.
@Slak_Jaw: Ah, great to read that’s possible!
The idea popped yesterday in my mind by seeing “Clear Saved Loops” under ‘Saved Loop Pads’ (See screenshot).
Since that is possible “Activate ALL Saved loops” might be possible too i thought. ![]()
It doesn’t matter if all loops are activated since only the coming saved loop is relevant.
Yeah that makes sense.
I want to state that I also do miss this function very much. Honestly I am wondering why such a simple but helpful function is not implemented.
Thanks for the input @Criwo
I have recently bought an FLX 10, I wonder if what you are describing here is what I am trying to achieve as well. For years I have used the hot cue button on an X1 with Djay pro as such:
normal press: jump to hot cue
shit + press: jump to hot cue and activate an autoloop
That’s literally one of the most useful workflows for me. I cannot replicate it in the FLX10 and I wonder if that’s what you are asking here (got a bit lost in the thread) and - if not - do you know how to midi-map that on a FLX10?
@Ben_Cislaghi, So you mapped your Traktor NI X1 yourself in Djay pro since i have the X1 MK2 and MK3 and see they are not native suppported by algoriddim DJ Pro.
This is not what i, forummember Criwo and Mauri_Moore (see below) are looking for and this topic is about, a Rekordbox/Traktor Active Loop equivalent.
Yes, and this video shows what we need…
This is the one feature that is stopping me from switching from RB!
Hi @djbo , thanks for that excellent example in the video.
Hope Algoriddim can bring that function into DJay Pro, it would be sooo helpful.
Welcome to the Community @Craig_West! Thanks for the additional feedback @Criwo
It’s been a while now, some updates are out. But still no possibility to activate a loop without jumping there.
Please @Slak_Jaw would you pass this request to the developers?
Thanks for the follow up @Criwo. I will share this with our devs again.
@Slak_Jaw, is there a technical obstacle for your devs to make / add a simple “Activate ALL Saved loops” in MIDI configuration as i already suggested in March of this year?
Don’t think so. Algoriddim sometimes has some funny ideas about how to implement certain simple things. I think that’s partly because djay used to target a more casual, almost “toy-like” market. But as the software has improved, it’s clearly becoming a much more serious DJ platform.
The thing is, certain features and workflows are simply best implemented in specific DJ software. I just wish Algoriddim would look at what other DJ software does well, take inspiration from those features, and implement them properly in djay.
If something already works well elsewhere, why reinvent the wheel? Just take what works and make it work just as well, Why come up with some unusual alternative when it ends up being less practical or doesn’t work as well?
This is what I’m talking about, and traffic light system of the key column…they did implemented but in funny way…
Hi @djbo, I don’t know if there is a technical obstacle or not for the devs to overcome. I have raised this suggestion with them again though to increase visibility. When I have more news I will share it here.
I agree with your view.
It’s funny looking far back that i was alway’s interested in Djay, liking its very Apple / Mac look and interface. Those were the years i worked with Traktor every weekend. Then i switched six years to rekordbox, not really happy with it and still following Djay i became very interested in it seeing it progress to a serious DJ platform candidate for me.
As far as I’m concerned: They are very close now!
Djay reminds me actually to my 15 years of working with Traktor wherein i could tweak the view of the interface as i liked.
I’m already doing wedding-gigs on a regular basis with Djay.
Yes, besides this, i think (i’m not sure) vey easy to implement ‘activate all loops’ i suggested already in march, i’m only missing this > a Song Playlist Favorites Bank.
If the developers ever would implement this, all my wishes would be fulfilled.
Got it! Thanks @djbo
