Reloop Beatpad 2 Issues

With every update, I’m getting fed up with the dedicated Algoriddim Reloop BeatPad 2 controller. The embarrassing sync, the addictive single-key match, the flashes, and the shifter stopped working. This is ridiculous. It’s becoming unplayable. Should I buy a Pioneer or a RANE? Since v5.4, which worked fine, it’s just a bunch of punches. I’m running out of patience, especially since the controller I’m using is on the radio. Right now, I give it five stars.

The question is whether v5.4.4 will finally fix the key lock problem? it turned out not to be: (

Hi @Jaroslaw_Szkudlarek, this issue sounds like it needs it’s own topic to understand and resolve. I’ve moved your comments out of the general release notes topic here so we can gather more info and properly understand and troubleshoot your issue.

Please start by providing complete details about your setup:

Device Model (ex. 2020 iPad Air 4th Gen):
Version of operating system (ex. iOS 17.3.1):
Version of djay (ex. 5.1.3):
Hardware/controllers used (ex. Reloop Ready):
Hardware Firmware Version (ex. 2.7):

Second, since this sounds repeatable, can you please capture and share a short video of the issue(s) to help clarify what’s happening? It’s difficult for me to clearly understand your issues based on the descriptions you’ve provided. I’m here to help so please try to clarify the problems with a video so we can try to solve them. Thanks!

I sent dozens to support Algoriddim and nothing, wait for updates and so updates and updates with worse and worse results

The controller is the RELOOP BEAT PAD 2 controlled by the Lenovo M11 tab andreoid 15.

I hope you can hear the sound of the key lock crackling

Thanks for the video and additional info @Jaroslaw_Szkudlarek.

I checked with our engineering team and this was fixed for most Android users in 5.4.3.
Unfortunately, this could be an isolated issue related to your specific Android device. For more on this, please refer to this FAQ: https://help.algoriddim.com/hc/en-us/articles/11294368324636-Why-aren-t-some-features-of-djay-for-Android-working-on-my-device.
So, switching to a Pioneer DJ or RANE controller while continuing to use your Android Lenovo M11 tablet will likely not improve things.

  1. In the meantime, can you please navigate to the djay Settings>Sound>Audio Output and set it to Mono Output? This usually, improves audio processing on Android devices.
  2. Also, I highly recommend that you force close all apps on your Android device, reboot, and only launch djay.
  3. If possible, please also turn WiFi and Bluetooth OFF to improve your tablet performance.
  4. Keylock is processor intensive, so ensuring you have no other applications running in the background will hopefully help.

I hope that helps!

I’m sure answer number one is not an option, I’m sorry to say, but the devices purchased by radio and work on the radio, so this option is out of the question, I already got such a proposal:) as for Andreoid, it works in our system and it is not possible to switch to iOS for many reasons, as to the performance of hmmmm… well, not much help as for marketing assurances that reloop bitpad 2 is a pro device and multiplatform. I will mention that this also happens on the SAMSUNG GALAXY S24 FE, which is something wrong with the application or information about it. Waste of time and money

Hi @Jaroslaw_Szkudlarek, I understand your frustrations here. Sorry if none of those suggestions are feasible for you.

  • The only other thing I can think of to try is a different USB cable.
  • This may seem like an unlikely cause, but I’ve solved many similar issues like this with users, by replacing the USB cable with a high quality, properly shielded cable with dual ferrites on either end.
  • Sometimes external interference or a failing cable can cause issues like this.
  • I personally use the Chroma Cables from DJ TechTools as these are specifically designed for DJing.
  • If possible, try to connect directly between the Beatpad 2 and your tablet without any other adapters or hubs as these can contribute to signal issues.

I hope that helps!

We have good quality cables, even the best problem was solved when it came to something else: after upgrading from Android 14 to Android 15, they set up standard settings for example, CPU, USB for charging rather than MIDI and a few settings in the developer’s profile, but the gentlemen from the developers department dealt with the problem. It’s a pity that no one from you knows these tricks how to set Andreoid to optimize it for Djay, after all, it’s LINUX that is fully customizable more than apple systems. but the most important thing is that it works everything without lags and flails and vevforms run away. ok anyway it works and it’s great so far and it’s a pity that you have to subscribe for a fee and you don’t have support to support it. I recommend that it’s best to use ioS or that you can replace it with a newer model although reading the forum it’s also people from apple and pioneer or rane whether Herculesa have problems with the bottleneck, which is so many factors, cables, concentrators, and finally wheels with displays to the management systems themselves

Sounds like you are doing all the right things then @Jaroslaw_Szkudlarek. Unfortunately, I can’t think of anything else to suggest. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help on this one.

For the moment, thank you for trying to eliminate the inconvenience, but the instructions for updating should be very accurate and strict so that people paying for the service can cope even though they are not IT specialists, once again thanks and greetings although I will certainly get upset again during the next update:) greetings and thanks again . PS Don’t leave the Andreoid aside because it’s not a bad system in total

You’re welcome @Jaroslaw_Szkudlarek. Thanks for the additional feedback.

One more thing, as you can see, do you have any experience in hubs, an active hub with PD charging function, preferably 2.0 USB . as you know, to power iPad tablets at the moment only USB C and here is the weakest link;)

Hi again @Jaroslaw_Szkudlarek, regarding USB-C hubs, I prefer UGreen, Baseus, Anker and Belkin brands as these are typically reputable and high quality. I’m currently using the UGreen Revodok 1071k. I hope that helps!

OK, I also have this opinion, I found “problem” another one, it’s about PITCH FADER. The right one after moving the SYNC releases the left one and the terrible lag is at the left one. My opinion is that they should work mirrors on the left one and the right one the same way. I will mention that the songs are set the same and the same as the BMP edit set to straight.

You need to have at least one of the songs playing so that djay can determine which deck is tempo master deck. Then the pitch faders should lock together when you move the fader on the tempo master deck.

I explain more about how djay determines the master tempo deck here: Understanding Sync / Sync Master / Tempo Reset [Win / DVS] - #3 by Slak_Jaw

OK now it’s different how I have to play a set for example house 128 BPM for hours as I block blunt even though the numbers are with a tolerance of 2%

Can you please rephrase that? I’m not sure I understand what you mean here.
