Reloop Mixon 8 - MIDI Mapping & Firmware Issues

@ed-dj the firmware update essentially broke my custom mapping so I had to redo it. I haven’t had a chance to really test things out yet so I don’t know if it’s still randomly resetting the mapping.

HEADS UP: if you update to the new 49.36 firmware from Reloop the above mapping will no longer work properly. You will need to use the new default mapping from djay 4.1.9.

Hi slak

I’ve just updated to v4936 and also latest djay version but it’s still doing the same thing…the fx encoders are mapped to the wrong channels

What should I do?

Thanks!

Ben

@Ben4 are you using the default djay MIDI mapping? If so, then I guess you’ll have to remap the controls.

Following^ What should we remap the controls to? (Ex: for FX1 Deck1)

I was initially excited to see this small djay update. Sadly, it does not work as I hoped.

  1. SHIFT + MODE does not Toggle the 3 FX knobs and buttons below them between controlling FX and Neural Mix functions.
  2. SHIFT + MODE instead simply Toggles your regular EQ knobs between Neural Mix and Normal EQ.
  3. I previously mapped this functionality to SHIFT + Headphone Cues so this doesn’t really add anything new for me.

Hey Slak, I just updated new firmware and was wondering if this mapping is still accurate? or is there a new one you have for the current update?

Hi @Madison_Cowan, my latest mapping is over here:

Thank you so much. Would you happen to know what the FX Knobs 1-3 are labeled as in the midi mapping? They aren’t showing when I press them like other buttons do.

Look through the post I shared. There should be pictures showing what each control has been remapped to.

Djay keeps disconnecting from Reloop Mixon 8 Pro.
Firmware and Macbook Air also updated.
Replaced cables and checked them.
Works fine with reloop ready.
(Prior to the FirmWare update, m8 could not recognize DJAY).
Scary. Need To replace controller Or just Work With reloop ready?
Any suggestions?
Ty.

Hi @DJ_Faisal, it sounds like you’ve tried most of the things I would normally suggest. One more thing you could try is to connect using one of the other USB sockets on the back of the Mixon 8. Just be sure to change your inputs to match with the small switches near the Gain Knobs for each deck. If this doesn’t work, then I would contact Reloop support as this sounds to me like a hardware issue.

I have contacted reloop. Thank you for your suggestions. If you all have any recommendations for other controllers, I would appreciate it.

Hi there, hope your Mixon 8 gets fixed. I had a Mixon 8 and had issues. In the end I changed for pioneer Rev 5. In a lot of respects it’s mapped better for djay pro. I like it a lot.

You’re welcome @DJ_Faisal. Please report back on how things go with Reloop support.

That’s exactly what I’ve been looking into Rev 5 reviews. However, I could not find any reviews of how Rev 5 and DJAY work together. Hopefully it is mapped correctly. I need something that is reliable. I used to have DDJ800 and NS62 and both were very reliable.
Thanks for your input.

Yes, absolutely. They responded quickly.

M8 is working fine now. I turned on the next day and everything was working fine.

Weird. Glad to hear it’s working. Thanks for the follow up.
