I mapped the Cue (Tap), which was undefined.
You can map to your taste. I’ve mapped it to shift and cue as this makes more sense to me. If you look at @Slak_Jaw mapping you can get some great ideas. For example I’ve remapped instrumental and acapella to parameter buttons as this made more sense to me. Slak Jaw mapped these to micro phone controls but I just personally think they are better placed near hot cues, play buttons etc. It’s all down to your own style. You won’t break anything as you will always have default mapping to fall back on. Have fun and experiment.
Yes, sorry that is what I meant shift and then the tap button right next to all the effects sections. I should’ve explained it better.
Thank you all very much for all your assistance. Great idea sharing here.
Hi @Slak_Jaw
Re this mapping
When the eq knobs are mapped to control neural mix it seems the neural mix volume is only at 1/2 volume when the knob is at 12 oclock.
Do the eq knobs need to be fully turned up clockwise to therefore get the full volume of the track??
Hi @Ben4,
I’m not supporting this mapping at the moment because I’ll be on the road for the next several months and my Mixon 8 is in storage. It sounds to me that perhaps the MIDI commands are set to NM Volumes instead of NM EQs. It should be pretty straight forward to remap those yourself. I hope that helps.
Yeah its all good i sorted it thanks so much.
One last question sorry to bother you!!
I worked out hownto chamge the led colours using the min and max levels of advanced setting. Is there a way to make the leds flash when theyre pressed??
No problem @Ben4. Flashing LEDs are only supported for certain buttons like Play/Pause and cannot be adjusted via the MIDI learn tool unfortunately. You can probably adjust them within the XML file if you know what you’re doing with those.
Understood thanks again
You’re welcome @Ben4
Just upgraded to the Mixon 8 from 4, got latest firmware, and I’m trying to map the FX buttons to toggle solo stems off/on. I can technically get the FX button to toggle a solo stem but I have to press it TWICE to toggle it on and off which is clunky at best, especially given the LED on the button stays lit up even when the solo stem isn’t toggled on. I can’t believe Mixon 8 is heralded as the go to controller for Djay Pro, this literally takes all of 2 seconds to map with the Mixon 4.
Hi @audiosymmetry, it sounds like you might have an accidental duplicate MIDI command or something. Can you please share some screenshots of how you mapped these buttons or perhaps share your actual mapping so I can take a closer look? Thanks!
Thanks for the screenshot @audiosymmetry. Can you please scroll down further so the command is in the middle of your screen? I need to see if the “CC 0” button is mapped to anything else? If you send me your MIDI mapping this will probably go faster.
EDIT: I checked the MIDI mapping on my Mixon 8 Pro and can confirm that the FX buttons and knobs are “hardwired” internally in the mapping. This is to ensure that the FX work properly with the FX paddles. So, you cannot remap these buttons for NM Solo.
You will need to remap different buttons for the NM Solo. If you don’t use a Mic, like me, you can map the Mic buttons for this. Otherwise another option would be SHIFT+Load at the top of each Channel. Another option would be to remap one of the performance pad modes. I hope that helps!
Thanks for checking into that, I ended up going with the NM solo performance pad mappings that come built into the controller when pressing the “Sampler” button twice. This actually is preferable to use in lieu of the FX buttons and I’m a big Mixon 8 fan now
You’re welcome @audiosymmetry. Perfect.
