I’d like to share my thoughts on djay Pro’s purchase model. At present, djay Pro is subscription-only. If you are a long-time user, you get the core features unlocked, but new features require a subscription. What I’d like to ask is: could you offer a lifetime purchase option? Even if it’s expensive, there will be people willing to buy it. I personally am willing to pay $500 or more for a lifetime version of djay Pro, but there is currently no such option.
So my question is: could the Algoriddim team provide such an option? Even at a high price, some people would be happy to pay. I’m unwilling to spend a cent on subscriptions — even $1 per year — but if it’s a lifetime license, I’d gladly pay, even if it’s expensive, up to $1,000.
Right now, users have no choice and can only subscribe. I think it would be better if Algoriddim offered two purchase modes: lifetime and monthly or yearly subscriptions. Those who prefer subscriptions can subscribe, and those who prefer lifetime can buy lifetime — just like Serato and VirtualDJ — giving users more choice. You could set the lifetime price higher, but it should exist, so you can meet the needs of different types of customers. I believe this would also be good for the software’s development.
