Saved loops (view and auto trigger when jumping to a hot Cue)

  • Device model: Macbook Pro M2
  • Version of operating system: MacOS 15.7.1
  • Version of djay: 5.5.1
  • Hardware/controllers used DDJ Rev5

Hi, I’m struggling with saved loops in DJay pro on my Rev5 (Mac OS).

  1. When I select saved loops on my hardware controller the view in the app remains whatever what set beforehand (I almost always set it to hot cues). Is there a way to switch to saved loops when I select that on my hardware, so I can see the stored loops I can select? Yes the pads light up but I can’t see the view on the software.

  2. I’m honesty confused: say I have a saved loop at the start of the track and it’s not active. There’s also a hot cue on it. When I reach a later part of the track I’d like to jump back to the saved loops and have it activated. The hardware only activate the loop, but not jump to it. So when I turn it on, and next I press the hot cue of the loop, the playhead jumps to the cue but deactivate the loop?! What’s the point of having a saved loops if that’s how it works? Or did I get it all wrong?

You have to do one or both of these first:

  1. In settings, have this unchecked
  2. Turn your hotcue and saved loop into a Cue Loop, in that case, as soon as you hit the hotcue, the loop is activated automatically.
    How to do this??
Delete the hotcue, activate the loop and while it is playing, create a hotcue again. This hotcue will be a Cue Loop (you will see the looped portion of waveform highlighted with eh cue color like this

Thanks that solved the issue.
I guess there is no way to change views in the software if I select ‘saved loops’ in the hardware.

Nice one @Armigo. Thanks for the help as usual!

@DJ_jazzcool, currently this is not possible, but there’s a suggestion topic for this if you want to upvote it.

That’s the behavior in rekordbox. I was expecting the same here.
Serato also does not change the screen view.

It would be great to have this implemented..

Thanks for the additional feedback @DJ_jazzcool. The dev team is aware of user demand for this.
