It is not unusual for certain features to be unavailable in some places. Political motivation is just one of many possible reasons for this; it is more likely that legal issues such as copyright and the like are involved.
have you tried using a VPN? or does spotify prohibit the use of VPNs?
Thanks for the detailed info! This clears up everything I needed about using Spotify with djay.
Youâre welcome @jhonm733
VPN is the way here. Search around about the different VPNs available. Some work better than others. I believe some work in a way that programs do not know a VPN is running. That way, if a program prohibits VPN use, it doesnât matter.
I was excited to see Spotify back, but that excitement has gone now I know why I couldnât find the Spotify option back in djay on my iPad. ![]()
I see it similarly. The very thing that made Djay great and interesting to many people in the first place, namely its use on iPhone and iPad, is (for now) left out. However, this was also announced from the outset, and I am sure that Algoriddim will not hesitate to let us know if this changes.
I had missed the news about Spotify until I saw announcements that it was back, so I was not aware about this disappointing part of its comeback. Better than still not having Spotify integration at all though.
If you want Neural / Stems back in Djay Pro or other DJ software, please like and react this thread in the Spotify Community. (it was a tip from Spotify itself, to put this there, then they will work on it)
Hopes it helps .
Please make Stems / Neural available for Djay Pro ... - The Spotify Community
Is seems that I must sign out of Tidal to use Spotify, and/or the other way around.
I subscribe to both - it would be wonderful to be able to be streaming platform agnostic, wouldnât you agree?
Hello everyone! Spotify is now also supported on iOS and Android with the latest 5.6 release. See below for more details:
I have no idea how this news passed me by, but I just fired up djay on my iPad for the first time in a while and was surprised and overjoyed to see the Spotify login prompt when I clicked the load track icon. I couldnât log back in fast enough! This is where my hobbyist digital DJ journey began - djay, Spotify, and a WeGO4 - back before Spotify pulled the plug on DJ app support.
Thanks for sharing @MarkyPancake
Algoriddim today released the 5.6.3 update to djay Pro across macOS, iOS, Windows, and Android that brings streaming playlist editing directly into the DJ workflow. Users can now create, delete, and pin Spotify playlists, as well as add, remove, and reorder tracks directly inside djay, with all changes automatically syncing instantly back to their Spotify account. This allows DJs to seamlessly discover, prepare, and manage their Spotify playlists directly in djay.
NEW:
- Spotify playlists editing directly inside djay â add, remove, and reorder tracks without leaving the app
When you create a playlist - do you also get track suggestions like the website or the app?
@PKtheDJ, Match (track recommendations) are still not supported with Spotify.
One important question. How it is with spotify Djay pro and public playing?
Officially not allowed, as a Spotify subscription doesnât allow you to use it to play music âin front of an audienceâ (the license is for personal, non-commercial use). Over here in the Netherlands venues pay our local licensing & collection organisation for the size of their space to play music. Most people will assume that this payment is also including Spotify, as a lot of venues use Spotify to play music.
Spotify created a âbusinessâ label for these scenarios: https://www.soundtrack.io/blog/can-you-play-spotify-in-a-business/
