Issue: Spotify playlists aren’t staying loaded in the background on IPadOS.
- Device model: iPad Air 13-inch (M2)
- Version of operating system: iPadOS 18.6.2
- Version of djay: 5.6 (iPad)
A) SUMMARY OF ISSUE:
When I load Spotify playlist, whether or not I load a song, and I leave the library tab to go to any of the others (FX, loops, etc.), when I return to the library, it returns me to my liked songs list. It also resets to its default sorting (newest to oldest). I then have to re-navigate to find my next song in the playlist.
I do not have the same issue on my iPhone 13 mini. When I return to the Spotify library on the iPhone version (also djay 5.6) it retains where I was in the library and my sorting setting (I usually use ‘sort by bpm’ or ‘sort by key’)
I also do not have this issue with any of the other sources in the iPad app (Apple Music, Files, USB Library, etc.)
B) DETAILED STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
- Open app
- Open sources and select Spotify
- Select desired playlist
- Open drop-down sorting menu in playlist and select desired option
- Load desired song
- Leave library tab
- Return to library tab
C) EXPECTED RESULTS:
Once returned to the library tab I would expect it to open to the last playlist I had open, with the same sorting setting I had active (eg. sort by bpm).
D) ACTUAL RESULTS:
- You will find that the Library has returned to a default playlist (liked songs for me) and default sorting.
- Repeating these steps on iPhone you’ll find that the library has remained on the playlist and sorting settings you left it on.
