Thanks for the suggestion @Converted. I have forwarded this to the dev team for consideration.

Great , i think its a great fit for the software.

Would be great to have your own mapping

Could you also consider adding pioneer ddj xp1 support as well? It’s pretty much the same device as xp2 just made for rekordbox - I assume one mapping could work for both xp1 and xp2.

It would be nice for djay pro to support ddj xp2 bc im having to use rekordbox but I prefer djay pro

I use my DDJ-XP2 with Rekordbox, Pioneer DJM-A9 mixer and two XDJ-700 media players. Would be great if Algoriddim supported my DDJ-XP2, but not like Serato does. Rekordbox has a “PAD EDITOR” which makes my XDJ-700’s even redundant! Cue / play, beat jump, effects etc, I’m doing it all with my DDJ-XP2 connected to my laptop with Rekordbox!

As anyone notice that pioneer xp2 wont work with djay until been mapped I think xp2 drum pad should be activated officially with xp2 drum pad

Hi @Temitope_Oyebode, please note that the Pioneer DJ DDJ-XP2 is not currently supported.

I made a custom mapping for the xp2 everything is working great with the exception of LEDs on hotcues. The colors don’t correspond with the colors from the sorfware. They are all the same color.

I’ve struggled with getting this to work.

Hello everyone! I’m happy to report that support for the Pioneer DJ DDJ-XP2 has been added in the latest 5.2.6 djay release on macOS, Windows and Windows Arm.

I had the chance to try it last night on my iPad (iPadOS 18.1.1) and really love the colors and how everything is implemented. However, I noticed a few issues:

Device Model ( 2024 iPad Air pro m4):
Version of operating system iOS 18.1.1
Version of djay (5.2.6):
Hardware/controllers used (DDJXP2):
Hardware Firmware Version (n/a):

Windows

Device Model (amd ryzen 7735hs):
Version of operating system windows 11 pro version 23h2
Version of djay (5.2.11033.0):
Hardware/controllers used (DDJXP2):
Hardware Firmware Version (n/a):

  1. Unmapped Pads:

• Pad Mode 1: The first 8 pads are not mapped.

• Pad Mode 2:

• The first 4 pads are empty.

• on the second row of pads There’s 1 pad mapped (seems to function as a hold button for instant effects), but the next 3 pads are empty.

  1. Effect Buttons:

• You can’t turn on multiple manual effects simultaneously. Activating one effect automatically turns the others off.

  1. Unmapped Hold Button:

• The hold button located under the effects slider isn’t mapped.

  1. Parameter Buttons:

• On Deck 1 (left side), the parameter buttons are set to sequence recording.

• On Deck 2 (right side), these buttons are not mapped at all.

**edit: Same thing on windows, added device info.

Hi @YungmasterDro, thanks for the feedback. I have passed this onto the engineering team.

Hi again @YungmasterDro, I spoke with our engineering team.

  1. These are known and intentional. We decided to leave some pads blank for the user to custom MIDI map rather than to add features that might be deemed irrelevant.
  2. Unfortunately, this is a limitation of the hardware.
  3. Unfortunately, this is also a limitation of the hardware.
  4. This is expected. In Pad Mode 4 the parameter buttons on both decks are mapped to Sequence recording.

I hope that helps!

Hi @Slak_Jaw, I’m also very excited to see that DDJ-XP2 is now directly supported. Going back to the question from @Nat_z from May 7 at the beginning of this post, would it be also possible to support the DDJ-XP1 as well? I could be wrong, but technicaly it seems to be the same hardware, only with a different USBID (728956956 instead of 728956981). Often there are the same custom mappings available for both devices. It would be a great addition for owners of the older model with least effort for you (only extend the existing official mapping to the second USBID).

Hi @zavo, I will check with the dev team regarding the XP1.
