Thank you! Is there documentation which outlines the functionality of each control?
Youâre welcome @oivivio. No there is no documentation that outlines the functionality of each control.
Could you please clarify what specifically changed in djay 5.6.8 regarding the audio interface mapping for the EP-136 Sidekick?
For context, I have been DJing successfully since July 2026 using a custom MIDI mapping in internal mode:
-
Main audio routes through Sidekick outputs 1 & 2.
-
Cue audio routes through Sidekick outputs 3 & 4.
Given this setup, what exact functionality does the new noteââAdded audio interface mapping for Teenage Engineering EP-136 K.O. Sidekickââprovide that was not previously supported?
Thanks for your help!
Hi @oivivio, nothing changes for you. We just implemented an automatic audio configuration for users who donât have it set up manually already.
Thanks for clarifying!
No problem! Youâre welcome @oivivio
Found this thread trying to sort this out for Samsung Ultra24. Curiously, the app was functioning on both channels of the Sidekick before I updated the Sidekick to the current firmware 1.0.3. I should note however that the functionality was not consistent, with channels being reversed/inverted also. Now only on channel 1. Bummer. Hopefully these 2 companies can make them play nice together
Hi @Eric_Cross, welcome to the Community! Thanks for sharing.
Just arrived the Sidekick ![]()
After a long troubleshooting attempt, I had to realize, it doesnât work with iPhone 14 Pro, most probably due to Lightning cable. ![]()
Same setup (phone, cable) works with FLX4 like a charm.
Sidekick works with newer iPhone (Air via USB-C).
Hi @ferrywhite, maybe try with the official Apple Camera Adapter: Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter - Apple (CA)
I use this one too. But you need to have power running to it at all times or it will disconnect.
There are some knock-offs on sites like Amazon and itâs really trial and error if they work without an power source.
Check your local Amazon for RetourDeals. I managed to get my official dongle for half the price of retail
I would definitely avoid 3rd party adapters for mission critical setups.
