Terrible digital sound on speakers while using cross fader in djaypro....

I have a strange sound problem over the speakers with Djaypro. But maybe not connected correctly.

  • iMac Pro running Djaypro.
  • OS: Sequoia 15.0.1
  • Djaypro 5.2.4
  • no controller attached
  • An amplifier with 2 front speakers connected to it.
    (Just hobby use)

When I move the crossfader to the left to transition the song from one side to the other, I suddenly hear a digital sound, which also does not go away! (suddenly it is there?) I think it is also on one channel (left)

The crazy thing is, I also had an iMac Pro before this and the same thing was going on there.
The connection is with a jack (headphone output Imac) to audio plugs in the AUX of the amplifier. (Also already tried different cables).

This is only noticeable and audible in DjayPro (of course, I only use the crossfader there)
When I use Spotify/ Tidal everything is normal

Q: Could the problem be caused by the cable from headphones to audio?
If yes, what is the alternative?

Thanks in advance.

Maybe that would be too easy, but have you checked whether you have activated Crossfader FX?

Hi @boing, to help us understand exactly what is happening here, can you please try to capture a video of the issue, upload it to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, then share a link to the video here? Thanks!

From your description, this sounds like an issue with your AUX cable, the connector on your iMac or the connectors on your amplifier.

Yeah, Djay has always has a distortion effect when using both up faders and cross faders, especially with reloop products. That needs to be tightened up in future updates. Maybe test with Hip Hop songs more as opposed to Dance/House.

Hi again @boing, can you please navigate to the djay Settings>Sound and confirm if you have Save and Restore Manually Set Gain Values On or Off? Thanks.

Crossfader FX is activated
Thx

I will do that,… but the problem is that " THE problem" is not always there… :frowning:

Slak_jaw,
It is off…
Thx

Thanks for confirming @boing. Does turning CFX Off eliminate the issue?

Hi Slak_Jaw… I’m experimenting with cables, sound configuration… some day it is not there (CFX off/on), and then when i switch from Deck 2 to 1, from nothing it is there. It is Always (so far) on Deck one. And as I’m said before, this is my second iMac Pro, the other has the same problem, I got it on a Reloop Mixon 8. So the problem must be the receiver or the Djay software. Not the Imac or Controller.

Hi @boing, thanks for the additional information. Can you please try to capture a video of the issue, upload it to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, then share a link to the video here? Thanks!

Hi Slak_Jaw,
I want to make a record IN DjayPro… BUT,… when I hit the record button, I cannot record from streaming services!!! AND,. this worked before, I pay for Tidal, I Pay for DjayPro… (no worries there I hope).
Then I go to Login to PRO Subscription, and I think I had there the same account as I use(d) in DjayPro. It did’nt work with my account, also no email when I click on " Forgot Password"
What I have to do to let this work (again)?

Thank you.

Hi @boing, internal recording with streaming services has never been supported. You must be mistaken. This is currently a restriction imposed by the service providers and beyond our control.

Please see below for your djay account.

Man, how incredibly stupid… it was with Neural in combination with Tidal and not with Recording!
Sorry for the confusion.

Actually @boing, I’m still confused. Are you say that you could not record when using Neural Mix and Local Music? Or are you saying that Neural Mix is not working with Tidal? Please clarify the issue. Thanks!

No, I was mixing things up.
I thought I could record with Djaypro and Tidal , but it was that Neural worked with Tidal. Locally, of course, it works.
Sorry for the confusion.

Got it. Thanks for clarifying. Please share the video of the issue when you get a chance.
