I have a strange sound problem over the speakers with Djaypro. But maybe not connected correctly.
iMac Pro running Djaypro.
OS: Sequoia 15.0.1
Djaypro 5.2.4
no controller attached
An amplifier with 2 front speakers connected to it.
(Just hobby use)
When I move the crossfader to the left to transition the song from one side to the other, I suddenly hear a digital sound, which also does not go away! (suddenly it is there?) I think it is also on one channel (left)
The crazy thing is, I also had an iMac Pro before this and the same thing was going on there.
The connection is with a jack (headphone output Imac) to audio plugs in the AUX of the amplifier. (Also already tried different cables).
This is only noticeable and audible in DjayPro (of course, I only use the crossfader there)
When I use Spotify/ Tidal everything is normal
Q: Could the problem be caused by the cable from headphones to audio?
If yes, what is the alternative?
Hi @boing, to help us understand exactly what is happening here, can you please try to capture a video of the issue, upload it to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, then share a link to the video here? Thanks!
From your description, this sounds like an issue with your AUX cable, the connector on your iMac or the connectors on your amplifier.
I’m noticing the same problem. At my gig last night the distortion came when just cross fading to another song. I’m not using crossfader fx. But it does at times seem to have an echo effect or heavy distortion. The distortion is to a point that it’s noticeable to the audience.
Yeah, Djay has always has a distortion effect when using both up faders and cross faders, especially with reloop products. That needs to be tightened up in future updates. Maybe test with Hip Hop songs more as opposed to Dance/House.
Hi again @boing, can you please navigate to the djay Settings>Sound and confirm if you have Save and Restore Manually Set Gain Values On or Off? Thanks.
