šŸ“£ The next-level major update to djay Pro AI for Mac, iPhone, and iPad is here!

Hey @Mark_A, Sorry to hear about your experience. Weā€™d be happy to look into this further to address the issues youā€™ve raised. Iā€™ve just seen you opened a thread in the bug reports category. Iā€™ll be in touch over there so we can help sort this out.

I had it crashing every time I restarted, but I managed to click on a different music source in the library as it restarted and it hasnā€™t crashed since. But itā€™s pretty damn scary to have a crash bug in the library part of a DJ app. Not something that can happen when Iā€™m live.

Crashes seem fixed since I upgraded to 4.0.1 , fingers crossed!

djay v4.0.1 was crash-free on a 2011 imac OS 10.15.xx all weekend for meā€¦good work algoriddim devs!

Hi, I am grateful for the update. The only thing Iā€™m missing the majority of my cue points from my Library. Some are there, most are not and Iā€™m worried Iā€™ll have to redo them in prep for some big events coming up. Can you let me know what I can do to solve this?

J.

Just noticed djay Pro 4.0.1 now supports the Pioneer DDJ-REV1 !!! Thank you very much!

3 posts were split to a new topic: Why are tracks in the Crates source grayed out?

Do you think we could get an updated list of all natively supported controllers, mixers, media players etc.? The list on the official website doesnā€™t include the ones in this post and I noticed in another thread that the pioneer Rev 1 is now supported which isnā€™t mentioned anywhere except on the forums. Having everything in one place would be great. Thanks.

Canā€™t map my Traktor Z2ā€¦
In the old djay pro o didnā€™t manage to map out and didnā€™t have a support to that ā€¦can anybody help me ā€¦

Yes, I can play the tracks from Serato Crates, they work fine for me in djay Pro (MacOS).

I do follow. I wish to map on Z2 as well. This mixer must be in the default list.

I purchased the Virtual DJ Pro version monthly, was good. But as soon as DJay Pro supported it, I canceled it. Iā€™m used to the DJay Pro.

I had a question about a feature that I dont see advertised and would like to understand it more. If I have my local (dropbox) music folder linked and analyzed, when i drag over a tidal crate, some songs show up as local and not tidal in this new playlist that is in my collection. Yet it does not work for all songs so I wonder what is the trigger. Its a great feature just want to understand it.

TIA

No news at all how can that be overcome ?

Nothing. I also sent an email to Algoriddim but any response yet.

Hi @Robert_Voller,

Thanks for your patience while our team is working to answer all requests as quickly as possible! Please feel free to open a new Community thread about the Traktor Kontrol Z2 in the DJ Hardware category here as well so others in the Community can provide their feedback and vote on this request for native support. This helps us better gauge interest for various requests from our djay users.

I made the bet on djay since itā€™s release on iOS about 10 years ago. It took time but now itā€™s become the best DJing piece of software.

Next steps

  1. Scratch banks
  2. Philips Hue / Zigbee / Sound switch integration
  3. Support offline streaming services and add more of them
  4. As much DJing hardware support as possible
  5. Put Windows/Android version to the same level

And bring it to the Steam Deck + full mapping of game controllers !!! (I will post the idea :bulb: soon).

In any case, congrats to Algoriddim teams for this innovative work.

I think it all starts with your point number 4. Since the officially sponsored/branded hardware is so minimal and almost exclusively controllers, they need to increase the amount of officially supported hardware close to virtual DJ levels. Basically where you donā€™t have to check the list (which weirdly hasnā€™t been updated since the DVS announcement) to see if your hardware is supported. You can have all the features in the world but if you are limited by the hardware then that point is moot.

On the iOS/iPadOS side, as long as Apple keeps limiting what is possible via USB, there will always be a list. See here for an explanation about class-compliant devices: What is CLASS COMPLIANT? | iPad/iPhone compatible USB audio interfaces - YouTube That said, apparently iPadOS 16 will allow driver installation on iPads with an M1 or newer (letā€™s see whether manufacturers will actually make use of this): iPadOS 16 now lets device makers create drivers for iPad - 9to5Mac

Most DJ hardware nowadays (especially new stuff) is class compliant but only fraction of it is officially supported by Djay. After almost all of it is officially supported, then we can worry about appleā€™s limitations as far as drivers go.
