Using USB sound with headphones on iOS 8 issue

Still nothing, I suppose?
Have Algoriddim been in contact with Apple?

Can’t really find anyone selling the DJ Connect and can’t really justify buying a €99 thing that I shouldn’t need if it wan’t for bugs anyway. So now I have to lug the Mac around. And man, is DJay for Mac a drag to use when you’ve gotten used to the iPad version

Also, remember to send feedback to Apple:
https://www.apple.com/feedback/
https://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

The more reports they get about the issue, the quicker they’re gonna fix it (I hope)

I also cannot watch any form of streamed videos (YouTube, Vimeo etc) on my iPad Air since upgrading to iOS 8.0.2. So far this seems to be the buggiest version of iOS I’ve experienced.

Anyone had a chance to try if the issue is fixed in iOS 8.1?

To answer my own question: iOS 8.1 doesn’t seem to help at all. Still same issue :frowning:

See my earlier post. For me it’s still not working after 8.1…

Algoriddim,

Shouldn’t it have been possible to figure out by now if it’s a bug in iOS 8.x or if it’s been changed so you can’t use audio interfaces and built in headphones at the same time?

If it seems like there’s not gonna be a fix I will have to invest in new interface but it’s something I really can’t afford right now.
Also, does anyone know a store in Europe (Germany preferably) that sell the Griffin DJ Connect? Can only find their own online store in the US…

Didn’t see that one. Bought the Traktor Audio 2 mkII yesterday and it… Didn’t work. Because “it uses too much power” so I either have to also buy the power adapter or return it. Will be interesting to see what this brings…

Bought the Traktor Audio 2 but it wasn’t working so I had to return it.
Trying to get hold of the Griffing DJ Connect. But it seems so new no one has it. Or they’re waiting to release it til Apple has sorted their stuff out.

Algoriddim, you must have some contact with the Apple developers, I hope you are buggiung them about this!?

And the rest of us:
REMEMBER TO REPORT TO APPLE!!!

Has anyone been brave enough to try the iOS 8.1.1 beta to see if there’s any fixes related to this issue?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Djay 2.6.1 + iPad + iOS8 + iMic seems to be broken! Urgent!.

Djay 2.6.1 on iPad and iOS8 with iMic seems to be broken!

I get sound out of the iMic but as soon as I plug in something to the headphone jack, sound dies in iMic. The usual screen where I can choose which to use for main out/cue comes up, and I can choose the iMic but no sound. If I unplug the headphones, sound through iMic returns.

Had a gig yesterday, was a pain. Have another tonight and can’t get it to work… Any suggestions?

No change here either after 8.1.1 update. Still not working :frowning:

Would be nice to hear something from Algoriddim.
This is extremely frustrating.

Will send another bug report to Apple as well. The rest of you do it as well, if you haven’t already!

Well, the more people reporting to Apple the faster a solution will come, I’m pretty sure. Don’t expect an answer. But it’s good to bug them about it.

I’m pretty sure it’s an Apple issue, but Algoriddem should maybe have found out what it is by now. And it would be nice to know. Whether that is “Apple changed things we need to rewrite our app” or “its a bug in iOS 8 we have to wait for Apple to fix it.”

Seems to be no solution to this issue in DJay 2.7 either :frowning:

That’s the issue I have too…

Still not working…

No luck with 2.7.1 either…

Warren, can you please shed some light on the progress of the situation?

I bought the Audio2 and it wouldn’t work at all in iOS8. So I returned it.

It’s obviously an Apple issue (which might be why everyone is hush hush about it). Which is why it’s important that everyone affected leaves feedback to Apple…

I’ve heard so as well, but cannot find anyplace in Europe that seem to have the damn thing in stock!?

This is the same issue as with the Griffin iMic (and other things). Seems the USB Audio and the Headphones cannot work at the same time since iOS8…

Go to Apple and leave feedback as it seems to be an Apple issue rather DJay issue… (the more Apple hears about it the more probable a fix will be. I hope)

Unfortunately that’s not an option for me. Have to lug my Mac with me as well. Mac version is such a pain to use once you’ve gotten used to the iPad version. Plus I’m afraid someone will pour a drink in the Mac :-o
