Hello, can you say me, if the Pioneer DDJ RR get supported by Djay Pro in future time? I tryed to map them myself, but there are big problems with the Midi Out signals. Thanks, Moritz
Native support seems like a no-brainer, since Djay Pro for Mac already natively supports DDJ-SR and DDJ-RB, and basically all other Pioneer Controllers, so hopefully we will see native support very soon!
I’m not sure why there is no native mapping as yet, as the bit of code for the midimapping file to get the VU LEDs working can easily be copy/edit/pasted from other native Pioneer Djay midimaps, using the correct MIDI OUT channels of course. Other software (Rekordbox DJ Demo) can be used to get the right values. I will give this a try ASAP, and then hopefully I will have a map worth sharing with you guys.
There was another post regarding this feature request as well, but I’m not sure how far they got with the map and VU LEDs:

Hope to have something today, sorry for the delay
Again sorry for the delay. Hoping to produce a mostly complete mapping by tonight, not just the VU level meters, but both jogs and all buttons and faders, including MIDI OUT and RGB performance pads. My main motivation for getting this working on the Mac is to import the maps onto my iPad/iPhone for use as a backup, otherwise rekordbox dj is my go-to DDJ-RR app for laptop/desktop.
Version 1.0 uploaded to DJTechTools Midimaps section. More updates coming. I left some notes on the page although I forgot to mention that channel meters work, but not master meters. Unable to edit the page right now. RGB pads also coming at a later date…cheers!
Yes, I don’t have Spotify in my area to test, but the library controls are working as expected so Spotify should work fine with the DDJ-RR
Now that the Pioneer DDJ-SR2 has been announced, wondering what our Algoriddim friends have planned The DDJ-SR2 is the Serato version of the DDJ-RR, most (if not all) of the buttons, faders, jobgs and meters are identical. Hopefully official maps are coming for both the RR and the SR2, but for now, here’s something to get you going:
Do you mean DDJ-RR features or Rekordbox DJ features? Any features that the Djay Pro software supports can be mapped to the DDJ-RR…
Did you try the mapping so far? One user had issues but I have since sold my DDJ-RR unit so I’m unable to test/develop further. However, modifying the mappings is pretty straight forward. I basically copied the code from existing DDJ-SR and DDJ-SX (for RGB buttons) Djay midi mappings. The native midi maps are found “inside” of the Djay Pro for Mac app (find it in the Mac Finder Applications Folder and right-click “Show Contents” Google how to). COPY the DDJ-SR/SX maps from this folder, Option-drag them to your Desktop etc. DO NOT MOVE THEM FROM THE FOLDER!!! You have to add a .txt extension to open and edit the map files. Copy the code to the DDJ-RR map.txt file. Save and remove the .txt from the file to use it with Djay. You may have to quit Djay or reload the map everytime you make changes, I forget.
The FX section just needs to be copied from the DDJ-SR file. The Grid Adjust (Downbeat marker) can be mapped within the Djay app itself.
The VU LEDs are modified in the OUTPUTS section at the bottom of the file. I’ve already done the CH1 and CH2 VU meters, didn’t get a chance to finish the Master Output VU meters. The MIDI messages codes can be found here: https://pdj-ecom-cdn.azureedge.net/-/…
Great news guys! Djay Pro 1.4.4 officially supports the DDJ-RR as well as a few other recent Pioneer controllers. We asked and they listened!!!
Hey guys,
thank you for pushing the integration of the DDJ RR.
This thread was forwarded internally.Â

Hey guys,
as Juwan Hayward pointed out already:
After quiet some time, we are very happy to announce that
djay Pro for Mac 1.4.4 comes with full plug & play support for Pioneer XDJ-RX, DDJ-RR, DDJ-RX, and DDJ-SZ2 DJ controllers!
You are good to go after updating djay Pro.
Thank you for your patience.
Cheers,
Lukas E.
Same controller, same problem. Beware when playing with the MIDI out (which turns on the light in specific buttons on the controller), a certain MIDI out signal will activate the FIRMWARE UPDATE MODE on the controller, and you then need to LOAD FIRMWARE again to get the controller to work. So to play with the midi mapping feature yourself is somewhat in risk of bricking your controller…
So PLEASE make the mapping natively in DJay Pro, so that people don’t ruin their controllers…
Hey Algoriddim developers It has been 8 months, since this topic was raised
What is the status on this subject? .-)
Best regards
Brian
What’s the status on this?
Great job, love the software
Good point
Can you import a mapping file? If so, you can get the midimapping file from the zip file of the Mac installer
