Xone:24C Mixer Official Support

Hope to see official support for this (especially a matching MIDI map for the Xone K3!) But otherwise the 24C looks easy to map.

  • USB-C host port + 2-port USB-C hub! (replaces X:Link)
  • class compliant on macOS and iOS, no need for drivers.
  • downloadable ASIO driver for Windows
  • USB-C ports can charge phone/tablet
  • Innofader Crossfader sends MIDI CC so it should work with Crossfader FX

Thanks for sharing @Michael_Wisniewski. Sorry for the delayed reply. I have passed this onto the dev team for consideration.

Cool. I found this in the manual…

In addition to connecting Xone:K Series devices, the HUB-Ports support third-party USB-C class-compliant controllers for MIDI control of software running on a computer connected to the HOST-Port. They also support USB-C class-compliant digital audio devices for audio aggregation on the HOST-Port device.

Thanks for sharing @Mister_Tuur

This thing is haunting me. I think I need to buy one to get rid of the itch. Love to compare it to my Mixtour Pro, as I have a weak spot for analog summing…

Xone 24C & X1MK3 would be killer setup, hope Djay natively support both :folded_hands:

Thanks for the input @hardbea7

Is djay pro compatible with allen & heath xone 24c or is this planned?

Hi @CTJB, welcome to the Community! This hardware is not currently officially supported but you can vote above to show your interest in adding it.

It would be so great if you could support the xone 24c in the near future.

It should work fine if that is your question.

Thanks. djay pro is compatible with xone 24c or what did you mean? The Algoriddim Support said, that djay pro and xone 24c are not compatible and will not work. You cant select the interface as external or internal mixer. Only LINE works via cinch, but not USB, the support said.

It’s a normal compliant audio interface. Why wouldn’t you be able to select it? Mine is on backorder, so I can’t verify yet, but there shouldn’t be any reason it won’t work.

@Slak_Jaw what do you say?

Edit: I was only thinking Apple here. So I apologize if you’re on a different platform. My bad.

This hardware is not currently officially supported by djay on any platform. For it to work as an audio device on iOS it would need to be Audio Class Compliant. For it to work as a MIDI device on iOS it would need to be MIDI Class Compliant.

Here is some general information regarding DJ Mixers with macOS:

So yeah. It should work fine on Apple.

That’s a real shame. I specifically ordered the Xone 24C to use the audio interface via USB and not the LINE input, because of the poor sound quality through the MacBook’s headphone output. If Djay doesn’t support the 24C in the future, I could have just bought the Xone 24, without the USB interface.

@Mister_Tuur Are you sure that it will work as an audio interface because it is class compliant with macOS, iOS etc. My 24C will arrive in December.

" 8. USB HOST-Port

USB-C. 12 Channel (3 Stereo IN/3 Stereo OUT), 24Bit/96kHz, internal Hi-Speed USB soundcard. macOS / iOS class compliant. ASIO compatible. Direct, full-duplex MIDI connection."*

#### AppleÂŽ Operating Systems

The Xone:24C features an Apple CoreAudio and CoreMIDI class compliant interface that will work on macOS® iPadOS™ and iOS platforms without any requirement to install hardware device drivers.

Which DJ mixers are supported on djay Pro for Mac?

Generally, every USB audio mixer is compatible with djay Pro for Mac. If your DJ mixer is not class-compliant, you need to make sure that you’ve installed the necessary driver to run audio through it. If you have any audio issues with your mixer, please make sure to check the "I can’t hear any audio through my master/pre-cueing output" section in our Controller Troubleshooting Guide.

When you connect your mixer, djay will automatically detect the device and set it to external mixer mode. You can always double-check this mixer mode was chosen correctly in the Devices tab in djay Pro AI’s Preferences (⌘+,):

How do I use an external mixer with djay Pro for Mac?

You can connect djay Pro for Mac to any compatible external mixer. By following these steps, you will assign the djay-deck outputs to different channels of your external mixer.

  1. Connect your mixer with your Mac via USB. If the mixer requires a driver, make sure it’s installed.
  2. Go to the djay Pro “Preferences…” (press ⌘ + , ) and select Devices.
  3. Now switch to “External” and assign the decks to the mixer, as shown below:

The Xone 24C’s audio interface is class-compliant with macOS and iOS, and you state on your website that any audio interface is compatible (see links).

@slak_jaw So I don’t understand why you say it wouldn’t work?

Hi @CTJB, if you read my messages carefully, I did not say it would not work. I said it is not currently officially supported. This means it has not been tested with djay and will not be plug-and-play or pre-mapped to work with djay. It may work if it is class compliant.

Thanks for the reply. I had the same discussion with your colleague Andrew. He said the interface will not work. To be honest, based on the facts I’ve read at Djay and Allen Heath, I don’t want to believe that. We’ll know more once I receive the 24C in December. Until then, it’s all speculation, right? Let’s keep our fingers crossed that it works. I will report …

To answer your question, djay does not support the 24C, which means its audio interface will not function within djay Pro.

The method previously shared with you would be a work around so that you could use djay as an audio source into the mixer via line in.

I hope this information is helpful, and if you have any other questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to reach back out to us. Have a great day!

Best regards,
Andrew

Algoriddim Support

You’re welcome @CTJB. Since you have one on order already, then I think it’s simply best to test it out when you receive it or hope that someone else in the community receives one and tests it before you. Looking forward to hearing back on the results of your testing. Thanks!
