Xone:K3 Official Support

Allen and Heath have updated the Xone k series. No audio interface on this unit (rumours of another to be released).

I think that’s the looper section of Djay Pro in the first section of the video, but I don’t have the Ipad version to confirm. Anyone like the look of this?

I wish there were more “generic” controllers on the market to build custom setup’s with and especially ones that help you setup alongside Pioneer systems. This is the primary use case for the K3 as I see it. Requires a mixer with soundcard though I guess.

I loved the NI ones when I used Traktor, but the iPad is my device of choice for DJ’ing and the NI controllers don’t work (well) with iOS AFAIK.

Not much has changed on the K3 it seems. I wonder if they will do a version with interface as well? There is no “midi mixer” only controller on the market and this could have been a great one. Although I would have thought 4 pots would have been more useful.

I’d love to see a 4 deck midi mixer with interface (wider but not as tall/deep as the K3) and a couple of companion deck controllers for a) standard deck stuff and b) stems, pad fx etc even if it were “selected deck” with proper visual feedback. Massive jogwheels are so overrated lol!! Replace with encoder!

I love my Mixtour (even more so since the Pro came out) and I’ve toyed around with adding an extra controller like the m-vave SMC mixer to do stems and other jobs that are too hard to remember or require pad layout and shift changes on the mixtour.

I hope it does well !!

I have no idea why would anybody prefer this to an older K2  even if mine breaks I’ll prefer buying a used K2 again

The video on the product page mentions the “next gen” 24C mixer as a companion product. Algoriddim recently added the discontinued 23C mixer to it’s compatibility list, so the mention of the 24C is an interesting development.

I had the K2 and ended up selling it as I have a Midifighter Twister that does everything I needed it to do.

If A&H were to release one of these with a sound card and VU meters on the channel faders (asking a lot for the footprint, I know), I reckon it would sell more units than anything A&H have made for the DJ world,

Bless Allen&Heath for making this K3. Amazingly build piece of a controller.
Now to map the hell out of this controller with djay…

looks nice, but no audio interface. just a midi

Personally I think it’s a plus it not having an audio interface. I use my DS1 anyway and not having a sound card means no audio interface conflicts when connecting it to iOS and it’s significantly cheaper.

I’m curious if this can work in conjunction with the Mixtour Pro on iOS, so I can add things like tempo faders

Hi @bogdalene, you can definitely use multiple MIDI controllers on iOS. Easier if you have a USB-C iOS device because you can use a powered USB-C hub.

That’s great to hear! I actually searched this on the forum after I made that comment and saw that you already use a multicontroller setup with a Mixtour. I’m curious how that’s working for you and if you have any suggestions on the best functions to supplement the Mixtour with.

It works great @bogdalene. It really depends on your style of DJing. I use the Mixtour Pro on its own when I’m travelling or for small gigs. I prefer to mix manually when possible though, so having the jogwheels and performance pads of the LC6000’s is an ideal fit for me.
