No! it’s bullshit!!! just had the error, and it was going so well!!! aarrrrrraaaagghhhhgg!!!
Random English words put together to form a strange couple of sentences???
I’m confused.
Hear, hear!
Has anyone tried installing an older version of the iOS system/firmware?
@Anthony Saint Think you got lucky, just tried the same and within 5 mins get the same error. Going to try and install an older version of the firmware… wish me luck.
Same issues here for me too. Different songs. I cant find any commonality in why it does it sometimes and other times it does not. Did a 50 minute set no problem and then all the sudden it did it. I have also noticed that since iOS 6.1 my music on my iPhone 5 does the same kind of thing randomly. I wonder if this is an apple issues not an Algoriddim issue. I play my phone all day at work and it shuts off on me 4-5 times a day just playing through stock music app on my iPhone.
64 gig iPad 3 running 6.1
djay os 1.6.3
Numark iDj Pro latest firmware
just FYI. this issue is also present on the iPhone app. the only luck I’ve had making things work a little better is to do all tracks with the high precision bpm analyzer. that seemed to help out with the issue happening.
I’ve also noticed that this issue does not happen on songs that I’ve downloaded since before the ios 6.1 update. only in songs after. if I play songs downloaded from 2012 I have no issues at all.
like I said before my music player on my phone randomly shuts off when switching to a new song. again only with songs downloaded over the past couple months. I believe that there is a correlation between the Djay app and issues within ios it’s self. I don’t know if this is Algoriddims fault to be honest.
That traktor app is way overpriced. And makes you cheat like a mofo with auto beat match. It’s not nearly as powerful as djay. The big difference between the two right now is that Traktor ACTUALLY WORKS!!!
I have had Djay for almost 2 years now and this is the first time anything wrong has happened with this app. Craig you need to chill buddy. how about help out and find some reasons why you think it’s happening instead of just bashing them. if not have fun with bland Traktor and let us know when you get bored and come back.
Thank you Warren. We all look forward to the update!!!
You all should be ashamed of your selves. Read the damn comments. This is not even an Algoriddim issue as I predicted. Kinda hard to fix your software when there is no problem with it. This is an iOS bug that sadly has effected Djay. Im just as pissed as everyone else about it not working especially since I just got the iDJ Pro but if you think a company that has won awards for this app is not “trying” hard enough to fix the solution than you are sadly mistaken.
I am thankful that they have finally figured out what the problem is and its going to get fixed. Even if it did take longer than we all would have liked but hey its getting fixed.
I have downloaded the Traktor app and it is garbage compared to the power that Djay has. Anyone saying you will use that… trust me you will be back to Djay.
Thank you Algoriddim for trying your best to find the problem and now that you finally have I have faith that you are going to fix it as soon as possible.
you are an ignorant piece of work Andy. I’m done here.
I really could care less what apple says. I love their products but they will never admit blame on certain issues. if this wasnt happening with in the stock music app and in the Traktor app almost exactly as it does with djay, then I would believe them.
I did not intend for that to come off abrasive towards you. I apologize if that’s how it seemed. Im as frustrated as everyone with a useless $500 controller I just bought as well. I just believe that Warren and the team are doin what they can with it being an ios issue. I’m patient. does it still suck? hell ya it does!!! but as warren said. it is what it is. it’ll get fixed soon and we will all be happy.
you need to double tap home, kill the app, and re open. Mine does the same thing unless I manually kill the app.
Has Apple gotten back with you at all Warren? Curious if they even care about this issue.
Ive seriously considered converting my 2,000 song libraray too 256 AAC but just tried a couple songs and it does not keep the meta data set for when the original song was downloaded. I have multiple playlists set up by date and I refuse to convert and lose all of the that. I don’t want my entire library to look like I just got all of the songs in one day… be warned about this is if you care. Im kinda OCD with my organization and set up of playlists with iTunes. I know some may not care but losing all sync data, cue points, and some meta data is not worth the trouble.
Warren
Is there anyway you could make the app recognize when trying to load a song that makes the error occur, kind of reject that song and leave that table blank and still keep the song on the other deck play without freezing the entire app? It would be awesome if we could at least get the app to not freeze upon error.
You mentioned in an earlier post “Our developers haven’t given up and we’re still looking for a workaround. We already found a way for djay to recover from this error.”
At least recovering from the error where it does not crash the entire app would be better than nothing while you are waiting to hear from Apple.
Just a thought…
Why would Apple care. They know your downloading songs from Beatport and not iTunes. To get a 320 kb file from iTunes you would have to download lossless and then convert to to 320 mp3. I bet you 80% of the world couldn’t care less about audio quality and most people just get the standard 256kb. Which is why this problem is not all over the Apple discussion boards. I have yet to find any one on there complaining about this issue through the stock music app or any other apps for that matter. Maybe we should all hop over there and start complaining about this issue.
Ok. Im not trying to be a dick. but…I don’t see why beatport would change anything they do for what I would think to be a very very VERY small percentage of users having issues with there 320 kb MP3 tracks through an iPad/iPhone app. Which I would also guess that most professional DJ’s would look at the iDJ Pro or Live or just the app it self as quite the “toy.” Obviously thats all Algorridim looks at is as or we would have a fix for this by now. Or at least heard something back from them from Apple. Nobody gives a shit about this app or the hundreds of dollars we have spent on connecting this app to some hardware. Regardless If this is still on ios issue, something should have happened by now. Were talking about months now. Nobody cares obviously. I do not think this is a beatport issue as much as it is a 320 kb issue whether it be Apple or Algoriddim. Its complete bull shit that nobody can use this app professionally with high quality file types. At first I was on Algoriddim’s side but this has gone on way too long. We are already on Beta 3 of iOS 7 and they havent even told us if they know that iOS 7 is going to fix this bug. Why??? BECAUSE THEY DONT CARE!!!
