and here is some other food for thought. Why would Apple fix this bug when they don’t sell 320 kb file types. If they don’t fix the bug then they kind of force people to buy music from them at 256 kb. And i don’t know about you guys but I am not going to buy music from Beatport at some times 3 bucks a song when I have to convert it down to 256!!! That is ludicrous!!! So, I don’t see Apple fixing this bug any time soon. I love their products but they are some greedy bastards and we all know this.
Ladies (if there is any) and gentleman. I am happy to report that I believe about 95% that iOS 7 has fixed the bug. I download the gold master to my iPad and i loaded about 200 of my tracks from 2013 and did not receive the error once. That would have not been the case a few days ago. This started back early 2013 and Finally after MONTH AND MONTHS waiting I think the error is resolved. Now… with that being sad just to assure everyone, these were all 320 kb mp3 file types, “downloaded from beatport.” I will keep this thread updated up until next Wednesday if anything changes as I am sure that nobody from Algoriddim will respond to this before the official release of iOS 7 comes out next week. It would be nice if we could get confirmation of the bug being squashed before than as the GM iOS 7 is pretty much going to be the same as final release. Come on Warren. Throw us a bone here.
Hi, Warren
I have corresponded with you several times and I believe I provided the answers to your questions. Thanks for your quick responses, I appreciate how quickly you guys have responded. I posted here as well to see if anyone else was experiencing that same problem. Robert has made a good point. I did not have these issues until I updated my iOS to 6.1. That may be a place to look. Thanks again.
Yeah, I updated the iOS on my iPhone and now I get the same error there… No expert but I would look at that 6.1 update. Maybe just a bug that could be corrected. Nevertheless, no live mixing for me with the iDJ pro. Although i am a true Numark fan since the 80’s I’m gonna relegate the iPad to bedroom mixing and I’ll have to step it up to something else.
I would look to find a back up if you can… There have been several people that have had the same issue specifically after they updated iOS 6.1…Tech support is looking into the matter but there is no way to tell when this will be resolved. If I were you I would see if I could find alternate gear for the gig.
Pretty much same for me as well. MPEG or ACC Files
Hope that works for you but it just sounds too easy. This has happened to me multiple times with multiple songs that have played fine in the past. I have restarted the app and it happens again. Like I said, if that works for you that’s great but I would not risk it at a gig. Stopping and starting would not be an option if it were live. Keep us posted please
Yup… IDj Pro… So you’re saying that I have to load every song I have in my library until that song has an error, and then restart and do it again. I guess you have to do what you must but I have way too many songs for that. Let us know how you make out.
I agree with spoon, I have a pretty decent library and I don’t think I should have to jump through hoops to use a product that should work as advertised. I also don’t prepare sets, I usually have a good idea as to what I want to do or how i want to start and then take it from there so I like to have my library with me.
I agree Andy! The concept is great, you cant beat the portability, which is why i bought into this whole thing but with the money I spent on a new 64g iPad + the iDJ pro, I could have gotten something from the pioneer line. I’m a numark guy from way back but it’s a crap shoot when dealing with software and operating systems. I should have known better, I never had this problem with turntables…
Got rid of my 1200’s so I could have a more portable platform. I know this is not algorridim’s fault as these bugs happen with sofware but I think by the summer I’ll be using CDJ’s with rekordbox so I can get back to spinning music. Thank god the season really hadn’t started for me, and the few gigs i did have my friend took care of. I cannot take the chance of doing a wedding or something and having my system crash.
Hopefully they can find a patch to fix this as this is a really fun platform to use.
Djay has crashed multiple times since iOS 6.1 update when recording. Usually happens on the 3rd track when I push play. Has happened 5 out of 5 times, only when recording. Says something about OS error.
This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled
Djay crashing when recording.
Ipad ios 6.1
Version 1.6.3
It happens with random tracks
Nothing in common with the songs, not using iTunes Match
Cannot try resyncing for another 2 weeks as I am on the road.
No. Can be song a, b, f, etc. only commonality is that I am recording, one track is live, other side is loading new track. I get he error message and only thing I can do is close the app completely.
I’ve moved on from my iDJ live to a full mixdeck and Traktor on my Mac. Too late…
I have no issues in iPod app or Traktor DJ either. It is strictly an Algoriddim issue to the best of my knowledge.
…and 9/11 was masterminded by the Jews.
Have no idea what you are talking about. My iPhone’s - iPod works as it should with names, artist, track info, cover art never hesitating or missing a beat. Same with my iPad 3. My issue is strictly a DJay app thing. Traktor DJ works flawlessly.
That is a bad idea. Why should we have to do anything special to make this app work? Who wants to downgrade the audio and spend time on this?
