Custom Looper packs

Ok, thanks for clarification. Doesn’t seem like the looper is currently a serious feature then.

In regards to the sampler, is that just for triggering manually, like single hits or can you run a loop a sample (drum loop for example).

Also, can samples be layered so you’re playing more than one simultaneously. Let’s say you have 3 separate loop samples 1. Kick. 2. Clap. 3. hats etc, allowing you drop each in and out.

Again sorry, finding the time to dig into every feature is challenging and asking these questions saves a lot of wasted time. Thanks.

Even the ability to create custom loops for the looper in neural mix pro would be acceptable. Export custom loop packs to djay pro, I’d happily buy the neural mix pro software for this alone.

@N_C currently, the Sampler only works with 1-shots, but there’s been a Community Suggestion to allow Loops.

Yes, you can play multiple samples at the same time.

Neural Mix Pro - basically - is a means to export stems right? But can you do re-edits - of tracks or stems - within it or do you have to export?

My ideal scenario would be…

Use NMP for stems (obviously), re-edits and loop edit/export which could then be either triggered in DJay Sampler or Looper.

This would all be so much more elegant (and useful).

I’d add some simple editing features for re-editing tracks if it doesn’t already (again, sorry not had time to check). I did try out DJ Studio but it’s not really fit for re-editing purpose.

I’ve opened up the idea of using Neural Mix Pro again here. Votes most welcome.

Hi ubux! You might ask any AI about this. I found the answer within a minute. But: Those files do not have the common filetype and format so it’s not as easy as just changing the data behind the name. At least with my installation it didn’t work. But maybe you will find a way. greetings… PartyPapi

Just voted for customed loop also.

Or perhaps if Algoriddim team wanna add Latin (salsa & Bachata) loops to it :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Eg this guy has a really nice loops: https://salsaloops.com/

I am also voting for being able to load your own loops into the looper! This would be an amazing option. Right now, I am sort of bypassing this by having fuller constructed loops playing in a four deck configuration with decks 1 & 2 for regular track mixing, deck 4 for loops (including the internal looper as I’m running an external mixer) and deck 3 for tracks or looped music to play over.

it works but its not the same experience as having your own loops in a cool fun interface like Looper inside the program allows.

I’ve also tried using Ableton Link with RemixLive but then you have to navigate which channel your mixer will play out of and it doesn’t quite sync lock as well as I’d like, and I usually just end up manually nudging RemixLive loops to stay in super locked sync with Djay Pro.

I am on the latest version of Djay on latest MacOS.

My question:

I love looper on Djay and I do the same with samples in Ableton. Is it possible to load my samples in Looper than using Ableton and Djay, I would prefer to stick to Djay?

Hi @nowstanding, please use Search before creating new topics. I’ve merged your new one with this existing topic. It is not currently possible to import your own loops into the Looper. However, you can cast your Vote for adding this feature at the top left of this page. Thanks.

If the feature is added can there also be 2 more rows? Most midi pad controllers have a 8x8 pad arrangement and 2 more rows can add new instruments to custom sound packs for the looper

Thanks for the additional feedback.

Vaguely similar thoughts - I understand the looper packs are good for building full songs, but, when DJing to tracks - having 50% of the loops being pitched, and genre specific seems like ‘a waste’
I would love to be able to:

  1. Edit the downloaded loops into more user friendly banks.
  2. Move the loops around in the preset.
for example - any bank of drum fills should have a cymbal to ‘exit’ on, instead of just stopping it. Makes them way more musical.
  3. Rename loops
  4. Import loops.

Thanks for the additional feedback @thedrummingdj
