I hope you’re all doing well. I’ve been using Djay Pro for a while now, and I’ve come across a feature in another DJ software that I believe could greatly enhance our experience with Djay Pro.
I referring to the Sampler Play Modes in Serato DJ, These modes allow for more creative control over audio samples:
Trigger Mode: The audio plays through until the end of the track, and you can trigger it again from the beginning. To stop, simply hold the alt key and click the play button or use a shortcut key.
Hold Mode: Audio plays only while you press and hold the play button or shortcut key, stopping immediately upon release.
On/Off Mode: Audio plays until the end of the track, and pressing play again stops the audio and returns to the start.
It’s all about giving us more flexibility and control.
So, I wanted to reach out to the Djay Pro development team and kindly request that they consider adding these Sampler Play Modes to a future update. It would be an awesome addition that I’m sure many of us would appreciate.
What do you all think? Do you see the value in these Sampler Play Modes as well? Let’s discuss and show our support for this feature request!
I appreciate your input, but it’s important to clarify a few things. Firstly, I didn’t take away stem separation, and as far as I know, Djay still offers stem separation. Are you on the latest version of the app?
Secondly, while it’s true that software improvements are essential, adding new features can also enhance the user experience. Sampler Play Modes, for instance, could provide DJs with more creative options without detracting from fixing existing issues.
Let’s keep the discussion constructive and focused on how we can make Djay Pro even better for everyone. If you have specific concerns or feature requests, feel free to share them.
I too would love to see the sampler enhanced… I am using IOS. I currently use an external sampler due to the limited capabilities within. I think sampler play modes would be a wonderful improvement.
Hi, I couldn´t agree more with you @lthreezer0 . Unfortunately, I would argue that sampler is where Djay Pro is so much behind Rekordbox and Serato, but I guess I could be improved relatively easily, because the basis of the sample/looper/sequencer seems to be solid enough.
I wrote this suggestions a few weeks ago, to which I wold add the 3 modes you mentioned.
SAMPLER/LOOPER/SEQUENCER
Well, I think the sampler/looper/sequencer have a lot of potential, but it lacks some basic features that really make them way less useful than they could be:
a) a button for cueing with headphones in all three modes;
b) a gain knob in all three modes;
b) the possibility of looping quantized samples in the sampler mode.
I would like each sample to have adjusting gain know for each sampler loaded because every sample are not loud thesame way it will be easier for dj to gv more volume to quiet sampler aside the sampler main volume
Yes i i downloaded the latest version already and I’m really impressed how the sampler gain works however i would like to chip in a suggestion I would like the DJAY engineering team to let us be able to map the sampler pack in Djay so it can be easier to switch to a particular sample pack without needing to control it on the laptop i hope that is put in a good consideration as soon as possible @Slak_Jaw thanks

I’m on Win 10..no external hardware..no controllers ..no laptops…no ipads…all internal.(on desktop)
I used the Djaypro 5.3 for the past week (trail period) but found no way to sync the sampler with either decks?
I loaded/recorded a portion of a song via the sampler but when the decks were going there was no sign of syncronization??
I noticed on this site that the first request for this function was already submitted in 2013…basically 12 years ago and had been repeated in the interim…???
Is there a way to sync a sample that has been looped with a deck?
Maybe I’m missing something?
I would need to clear this of course before purchasing the product.

I can’t help feeling despondent when I see the dates relating to the same request dating back years and years.
One can’t help but realize that if it has not received any attention in 12 years it probably never will.
Well luckily I have not spent a cent and will have to take my business elsewhere. It just boggles the mind from a business perspective how not adding a page or 2 of coding to rectify such a small issue can outweigh the perked interest of customers that would want to purchase the product then…boost in revenue?..Fascinating!

Your vote signals your interest and support for the proposed feature/suggestion.
We consider the cumulative votes alongside other factors such as feasibility, resource availability, and alignment with our product vision.
While high-voted features are more likely to be prioritized, they are not automatically implemented.
We value every user’s input, regardless of the number of votes a feature receives.
Have you experimented with our Looper? While you cannot currently add your own samples to this tool, perhaps it will provide functionality closer to what you’re looking for.

Yes I have but you would need to sit and ding dong with single beats to create some sort of effect while the decks are turning.
I’m not looking for an effect…I need to activate (in a loop - a portion of a song - good beat etc) while I am mixing…while mixing deck 1 into deck 2 I need this looping sample to take care of itself repeating without singing and syncing with the synced beat currently locked on the decks.
It is such a pity…I felt like crying…would have definitely bought it…
Like the age old business phrase…these 10 people are only the 1% you know of…
But who knows…maybe one of the devs can add a few C++ commands to create an even greater product.

I thought of it but I like to have as many of the other abilities visible…so the screen gets a little cluttered.
If I add the extra decks I would have to constantly click on that bottom icon to see my song list.
The 2 decks are just enough.
