DDJ-FLX10 Compatibility

Hi,
I’m using djay Pro version 5.3.2815.0 on Windows 11 with the Pioneer DDJ-FLX10 controller. The internal crossfader in djay (with the mouse or keyboard) works perfectly – it smoothly mixes tracks in sync and key. However, the physical crossfader on the FLX10 has no effect in djay Pro.

I’ve confirmed the following:

  • The crossfader works correctly in rekordbox, so it’s not a hardware issue.
  • In djay Pro, I checked that “Crossfader FX” was enabled under Settings > General. After disabling it, I expected the hardware crossfader to work, but it still doesn’t respond.
  • Channels on the controller are properly assigned to CF A and CF B (not THRU).
  • djay Pro recognizes the DDJ-FLX10 as a MIDI device, but the crossfader does not seem to be mapped.

Could you please help me get the crossfader working with djay Pro? Is there a preset mapping available or should I manually configure it?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @krisor,

  1. Can you please confirm in the MIDI Devices settings that you are using the (built-in) MIDI mapping for the FLX10 and not a custom edit?
  2. In the Audio Devices settings, please ensure that the Mixer Mode is set to Internal not External.

sorry to ask this here im in a panic and cant find anything on the web. I have new FLX 10 . on channel 1 I am using the line in and the trim is up full but the level is so quiet, any ideas what I can do ? the iPad is up full. thanks

@Nubium
Look into the Settings under sound and than headroom. Make sure it is at -6 like mine.

Sorry I didn’t explain well. This is nothing to do with the app. This is just to do with the controller. I’m using the lining on channel 3 and the level is stupidly low when I’m plugging a phone in and I have a trim up full again nothing to do with the app

I just connected my iPhone to line and turned it up really loud, to maximum, and I think that’s a decent volume, which is then played back through the controller.

@Nubium, try a different cable and adapter and make sure to turn up the physical volume controls on the side of your iPad.

Please also check if your phone has a loudness limitation in the settings

Thanks for doing that. But it never gets really high does it as in you can’t peek it out into the red if you wanted. Not that I would want to.

Then please make a video of your setup and how you set it up and also show what is stored in the settings on your iPhone.

Maybe then we can help you better.

Sound like you use the phono channel? Possible?

Today with firmware 1.14 on Mac jog wheel display is officially supported. any chance for iOS version ?

Hello everyone, we are happy to report that the 5.4 update for macOS and Windows brings jog wheel screen support.

  • Official support for the Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX10 controller with full on-jog screen integration, developed in collaboration with AlphaTheta (macOS, Windows)

NOTE: I spoke with engineering, and unfortunately jog wheel screens cannot be supported on iOS devices because this implementation requires HID which is not supported on iOS.

Can someone with both iOS and Mac share the differences with the mapping. Obviously the screens but since pioneer have officially integrated the flx 10 with Mac/windows I wanna know if iOS is now different in how it’s mapped etc.

Question. With the flx10 on iOS when you press shift and cue there appears to be no LED visual to let you know that neural mix EQ is activated. Is this normal behaviour? Could the devs look at a visual?

Hi @Dysfunk_DJ, this should be fixed in an upcoming update (likely 5.4.2). Thanks!
