Djay 6.0 dream features?

Official fully working mapping for the Pioneer DDJ-FLX4 controller would be great.

Put me down as someone wanting AI tagging of tracks mood/energy. I mix mostly bass music and many artists have hype bass/trap tacks and chill downtempo tracks on the same EP. Currently, I’m filing away each into a ā€œChillā€ , ā€œMediumā€, ā€œHeavyā€ playlists. I’d love for AI to take over that filing and let me focus solely on track selection and transitioning between moods. With so many releases coming out nowadays and the general zeitgeist in Bass music to play new tracks people haven’t heard, I definitely don’t have my whole library memorized and that’s ok.

The other big features I’d like are library management in Apple Music. (Show/add favorites, show all songs in a playlist folder, smart playlists, etc) Apple Music’s desktop app is terrible and even unreliable when editing your library and I feel DJay has the ability to totally supplant my usage of the Apple Music app whatsoever. Same goes for iOS. Having DJays automix in the car or a Bluetooth speaker is really fun and much better than what Apple is calling automix.

What exactly are you missing? It’s still one of the controllers with the most comprehensive support.

Something just occurred to me, and if it has already been mentioned, please forgive me:

How about an option to offer guests the opportunity to submit music requests via smartphone, which are then displayed in a kind of ā€œwish listā€ in Djay? I imagine this working like this: a special URL with a unique session ID for this one event is made available, and guests can then access this URL and enter and submit their music requests there.

I actually thought about building a portal for that a couple of years ago. Nice one!

There are some 3rd party apps for this like RequestBox and RequestNow.

All we Android users want is to have the same features iOS have, especially since we pay the same price that they do.

That’s actually a free app. Doesn’t look too bad either. Cheers mate!

You’re welcome @Mister_Tuur

Thank you, I’ll take a closer look at that. :+1: But I’ve already noticed that RequestBox requires the app to be used, so there’s no browser version. And I don’t think many guests at a party would install an app they don’t know just to get rid of their music requests… I’ll see what else is out there.

You’re welcome @Chris_R

A.I. Library management however would be a game changer for so many dj’s around the planet.
Obviously for open format dj’s. Especially when you’re being paid for gigs. Just imagine how prepping would be. I’m sure i can be done in small steps as well.

A.I. Sonification
Bringing older recordings closer to the modern mixed songs.
(ā€œBridging the gap between eras by sculpting the EQ, opening up the soundstage, and thickening or thinning the overall sound of the original recording.ā€)
Algoriddim uses what it has learned from the smart beatgrid and stem separation to get the sound of the individual stems like drums, bassline, vocals from two tracks closer together.
So no more huge energy gaps when you move from tech house to disco.

A.I. Performance Timer
You can set start and end time of the gig: A.I. can help you with: prepping how much songs fit in the intro, how much songs for dinner, peak time bangers how many for what amount of time.
It will help you with prepping but also has a live component, letting you know you just wasted a good song….. whuahah nah just kidding but you get where i’m going.

A.I. Visualizer
A new programmable visualizer that can display text and photos. This way you can hookup any display to your computer and have Djay Pro act as presenter of information like ā€œthe buffet is openā€ or 10 minutes to New Year.

A.I. GOD is a DJ
Djay built-in A.I. ā€˜GOD mode’ dj judges you as if your time has come.
When activated this function will keep track of each transition you make and you will be able to replay them later.
Each transition will have been judged by the A.I. GOD as: Excellent, Good, Mediocre, Just Bad.
You can also use this replay transition function to mark the two tracks as ā€œRelated Tracksā€.

If the library gets an overhaul, this would be awesome too… Portable monitors are very cheap these days.

Thanks for the continued feedback on this topic everyone!

I too am here to appeal for SoundSwitch integration.

Also keyboard mapping (like a typing keyboard). On iOS there’s a basic mapping but you can’t make your own. Would be great for that to be available

Thanks for the additional feedback @jefuqs , @PerpetualGrooves and @redsmashhammer

Scratch Banks! :raising_hands: (i’ve voted on the appropriate thread too)

The built-in ones are great, but with so many available to create/purchase - the faff to go into your library to find one to load in, to then go back into a playlist etc is a pain. Be amazing to just hit a couple of buttons on the mixer and away you go.

This would be awesome - especially if it was implemented fully on a pad mode
