Decks one and two for blending, deck 3 for adding acapellas or other sounds over the track, or for bringing a 3rd track into the mix… mainly house music.
Is anyone here using the 99 decks of virtualdj? Or you’re limited to just 45?

Is anyone here just recording everything from YouTube and claiming it belongs to them?

Good question, good poll!
My Point: It’s not the app, the gear, nor the music source that makes one a pro. It’s the person! Knowing what to do best with what you have for your crowd.
Many have alluded to it earlier.
Am glad the 46% winning vote here speaks for itself.
Someone missed my analogy on deck numbers! If software it were, 99 would’ve worn, hands-down - my Hercules has only 2 faders and that’s all I work with. Deck 1, deck 2, period. Pretty sure someone out there wants to grow up and be like me
coz, really, when i grow up I wonna be me too.
Pro software would need to include sound quality, feature set and also reliability. For me Djay pro hits all these markers and therefore in my eyes is very much Pro. Traktors sound is superior but then again is to most if not all of software. I don’t care much for user skins or 99 decks or what ever else. Needs to look the part and act the part. As long as it does that I’m happy. Djay pro hits so many markers for me as I only have Apple products. If I was windows user I might be saying different. For me Djay Pro is the only software of choice for me but of course probably like us all I keep my eye on all the platforms. My 2 cents as always.
Let’s please try to keep things friendly and at least somewhat on-topic @Armigo and @PKtheDJ. Thank you ![]()
What part makes Djay Pro Pro?
- Best beatgrid system
- STEMS
- Library
- Sources to play from
- FX
- Best routable MIDI
- Best support for my gear
- Stability
- Mutliplatform
- Me using it
Possible to make it multi-option selectable?
Having difficulty finding my off-topic comment, or unfriendliness. Will keep an eye out. Can’t discuss djay prowess without having a comparative viewpoint off serato, virtualdj et al, hence the “99 deck comparision”
Good topic.
Agreed, good topic, and absolutely nothing wrong with referencing other software for comparison. I know you and PK like to debate… just want to make sure things don’t get too over heated…
I also think it is more useful to add more options instead of just one, there are several that make DjayPro a Pro software.
@jefuqs, @Armigo and @Scoop, I adjusted the second poll above so you can now choose up to 7 answers.
Do you have any empirical evidence for this claim? I’ve not heard this before.
Only my ears. But I think it’s well known that Traktor has a warm rich sound.
Hardware is the most important component in sound quality, not software. Unless you’re testing everything on exactly the same signal chain it’s impossible to make such observations. And of course using high quality audio components at the end of the chain.
Ever tried it on a Windws or Mac laptop? Looks pretty pro to me
Welcome to the Community @Marcel_Assink
agreed, if they would of have an adaptation for the rane performer there…somewhat a usb c connection to the performer…and an ipad pro conncetion….jaws would of dropped….and as a said at the top of my lungs….there should be no reason why the performer cannot be adaptable to an ipad pro…that can have 2TB of music and streaming soft, no excuse at all….and a hardware that is built by apple….
@Pink_Panta it’s up to the hardware manufacturer to make the device audio and MIDI class compliant so that it can be used with iOS devices.
Believe me, the Windows version is significantly different from the Apple one - you obviously haven’t tried it, so I think you shouldn’t write unconfirmed things
